Hey,

Just wondering does anyone know if I can get a better laptop battery for my Sony Vaio VGNNS15GS??

Like one that has longer life? Cause stock is 2 hours even on low brightness :"(

From the link you have given us, click through to Accessories and from there you will see some extended batteries for your model.

mine stock lasts 4 hrs + on stock battery! did a few tweaks - that basically made it into a non-vaio though. essentially for it to last that long i can only surf the net.

it is kinda not that easy to do. maybe cause irreversible changes without restore disks.

essentially i
1) disabled all applications and services that are unneeded.
2) disabled all hardware that are unneeded namely ethernet port, modem, sd card reader, memory stick reader, firewire, etc
3) completely removed vaio power management and uninstalled vaio's graphics driver, and installed intel's driver which has extra display power savings.
4) make the display minimum brightness and max processor to be minimum AND install at least 2gb ram (to minimize hard disk pagefile usage)
5) set your pagefile size to a fixed size (reduces fragmentation)

actually i uninstalled all applications i didnt want - in doing so i have lost control of the vaio audio filter, the brightness, zoom and av mode buttons no longer work.

but in doing so my vaio boots in 58 seconds when connected to power source.
