Was just going to post something similar

GSM ARENA LINK FOR 4.0.4 update

Hope it doesn't take too long for all to receive.

Bet it takes another 108 days...

I seriously hope not. I would like to see it before the iPhone 5 is released here, otherwise it will get swept aside in the rush and gush that always accompanies an Apple gadget release. 100 days would make the release 19 Nov 12.

I note that the release is a 2.17.405.2 and appears to be for 1.29.405.11 devices. Since our devices are .12 I'm wondering what ramifications that will have on a likely update. Is the mass release for European unbranded devices the last stage in beta testing :/

Sorry just to correct the version numbers 1.29.401.11 update to 2.17.401.2. The usual threads of degraded wifi or gps or 3G signal have surfaced so maybe best to not be on the bleeding edge. Perhaps a happy medium, say a month to 6 weeks would be fair....

My WiFi is much the same, and my 3G is more stable/runs better than it did before and I get a stronger signal.

Have you been tested for Metenolone? ;)

I notice that 3 UK seem to be the first branded HOX to get the 2.17 update ( Software number 2.17.771.3). All the others reported so far have been the 2.17.401.2 unbranded european rom. 3UK jumped straight from 1.28 to 2.17 in much the same way as we went from 1.26 to 1.29.
Interesting (to me anyway) was that the main thing holding up the 3UK update (according to replies) was bugs found in testing and wanting to ensure the best possible customer experience. And that they were working as fast as they could to approve the release. Sound familiar???
17 days since the release of 2.17.
Perhaps the title of this thread now needs amending to read "Why no New HTC One X updates?"

Any chance of an update from the Telecom Online Response Team as to where the update to 2.17 (Android 4.0.4, Sense 4.1) is at? 5+ weeks since release. Or are all efforts at the moment being focused on the iPhone 5 launch?
Where it is in the process, even if a timescale can't be divulged would be appreciated.

So Telecom, 50 days since the 4.0.4 (2.17.XXX.X) release and still no sign of one for our handsets. Although I must be the only one still on the stock ROM looking at the preceding posts. Since there are signs that Jellybean is coming to the One X complete with an upgraded Sense version in October isn't it a bit embarrassing that we aren't even on the latest ICS version? Remember HTC's own blog talks about up to 45 days for carrier ROMs.

Telecom only seems to promote/feature the S3 these days and it is beginning to feel like (after only 4 months) the One X is the bas...rd son that nobody wants to know.

Come on Online Response Team, at least prove you are not asleep at the wheel!

Same here - my phone behaves brilliantly after the last update... Even the screen flickering has gone completely. I'm just waiting for/wanting Jelly Bean now.

I would still like to get rid of the 3-dot menu bar and improved battery life that comes with 2.17. If they can't do 2.17 which moves 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 in 2 months, how long will it be to go from 4.0.3 to 4.1.1 when that comes out next month? Hoping for a jellybean for Christmas maybe? Just don't pick which Christmas....

While JB gives a few new features (I have it running on my Desire HD) it is the tweaks to Sense I am looking for now.
And having a up to date phone. It still irks me when I do a firmware check and my phone tells me " your phone is up to date - There are no updates available for your phone" when I know it's not up to date.

Edit: Corrected quote.

Totally agree on the 3Dot menu bar - it drives me Nuts... Such a waste of screen realestate.

Worse than the 3 dot bar is the apps that have it in app and put it all the way at the top right, the hardest part of the screen to get to.

I just got OTA upgrade..

Telecom XT

Android Version: 4.04
Sense: 4.1
Software: 2.17.871.3
Kernel: 2.6.39.4

Seems fast. Might be the placebo effect, but it seems quick/smooth. Have not had a good play yet.
