freitasm: Just don't go crazy on your speedtests folks... This is how much I used today with six tests only:

Found that one out when I got 4G on Vodafone, but it was the only thing that 4G was/is good for on my phone!

freitasm: My first Speedtest result around Wellington:

Remember this is not a live network. Network is still undergoing optimisation. Results may vary depending on location, etc, etc, etc.

Does your S4 have the new 4g update? Telecom have told me that it is being pushed out on the 12th

Could you dial *#1234# and see what firmware it is :3 And check the baseband version in settings>about device

Does it have a new boot logo to match the new telecom branding? and is Browser still called TWorld?

It sure does, as it was provided by Telecom for this week of testing around town.

*#1234# shows:

AP: I9505XXUBMG4
CP: I9505XXUBMG4
CSC: I9505TNZDMH1

Looks like just a new CSC, That CSC number looks interesting, way different to vodafone or 2degrees's (the current one ends in bmg4 or bmg2)

Unless theres a new baseband too which you can check in about phone

Does it have a new looking telecom logo on boot? And is browser still renamed to Tworld?

I have not received anything from telecom since first registering my interest on the first day 4G was announced, should I just expect the Sim card to show up in the mail in the next few days? Or am I missing something?

My new sim activated instantly. Girlfriend did hers last night but it's still no go. When she rang, Telecom said they don't know how long it will take. Does anyone know if the old sim will still work? I don't want to drive it in to her if there is no chance.

Are you located in an area where the service will be available?

In regards to the updates, since I purchased my S4 while overseas, do I just need the sim and all good? It's running an official 4.3 build, and I've used it on Telstra's 4G network in Aus.

I would roll into a retail store this weekend if you can. Fairly sure they do the 4g swap for free on the spot. If you're worried give the store a call first. But they should just do it for you if you are concerned.

I went into the Hornby telecom store a week or so back and asked about a 4G sim swap and they told me to go online and request one.

Some stores didn't have them in stock a week ago, they *should* have them by now.

So in the off chance the wife was in riccarton mall and had a spare moment so she whipped into telecom to see if they would do a 4g SIM swap, this is for her phone which she had on her, but they wouldn't do it because they didn't want to do another one and the person she was talking to apparently couldn't look up prepaid orders so referred us to call 0800323232, so after waiting 35minutes on hold then battling with someone on the phone for 20 minutes who was trying to track something on which she said to me if I don't have an order number or an account number how can I track it, I said I didn't even know if anything has been sent, and track it from the number im calling from if one has not been sent can we please have one sent out? I got a long blank silence and then she kept trying to track it and after another 10 minutes I told her not to bother, I honestly think she didn't know what I meant by a 4g SIM. So 1hr half later I'm no better off
