Also considering streaming on Twitch (heavy upload).

biggest issue with twitch streaming, is your streaming to the US, that affects your maximum bitrate that you can solidly manage..

the stream window size doesnt scale all the best to twitch iver (compared to streaming to my server in the US), when i first went to VDSL, i expected to be able to get into streaming, stream like 8mbit full 1080P and such... but, it just doesnt work that way..

im on snap VDSL though, so your mileage may vary.

I manage to stream fine on my current VDSL connection with a bitrate of 1500kbps (which is 1080p) -- maybe yours was just an odd case?

i personally dont accept 1500kbit to be enough at all for 1080P.

clearly if your dropping that low, you have probably noticed what i was trying to explain..

Uhh this is a VOD - http://www.twitch.tv/difftheender/c/3370604 - of a stream I did a while back -- not perfect quality -- but still alright imo.
