Wahooo.... Ping is back to 68ms to Sydney, last night it was ~700

Guessing it'll be SSDD tonight when I get home. Out of interest I tried using a T-stick for some online gaminglast night and the Ping was just as garbage on that so whatever is rooting the pings is further upstream from that.

xbox is still unaffected! I guess TC is in on the conspiracy to kill PC gaming?

My Internet was kinda fine yesterday afternoon/evening.  Although last night was good tv night so we didn't play on the computer's too long.  But hubby was able to do his daily and his thing was green the whole time.

So they must have fixed something on Pro then.

In the past when this has happened with other ISP's it was normally due to them not purchasing enough bandwidth per month.  I do not know how this works with telecom.

I will keep my eye on latency tonight (crap night on telly).

I am having the same problems: pings to Aion servers are anywhere between 550-1200, normally 200-300.
Pings to google.com are anywhere between 200-600 - normally a constant 135.

I called customer support, was told to send trace route results etc. The next day I got a phone message informing me that the customer support guy spoke with telecom technicians and they confirmed that there was a problem with international traffic. He said he would inform me if there is any changes however I doubt I will hear from telecom again unless I ring them myself.

I am on the 40gb business plan.

I managed to talk to a REAL telecom helpdesk person last night, we could understand each other and everything! Was brilliant, answered a stack of my questions and I actually got somewhere.

It's looking like the incoming connections are getting cut still, I can ping other (xnet) users (~60ms) but only 1/4 times can they ping me, and when they do its 350ms+ Tracerts to me are timing out but me to them is fine. The gaming ports are open tho... Frustrating to say the least!

Is this just affecting Auckland users? cafeg doesn't seem affected? ... and neither is my xbox... it's Telecom conspiring to end PC gaming.

It's true, I recently bought a PS3 so I now require the entire network to bow to my PS3 needs, PC gaming is doomed

I bought a copy of Supreme Commander 2 on PC 2 weeks ago (since no REAL RTS can be played on a console) and since then I've had only had 2 horrid laggy games online!

The one benefit is that the others get bored with the lagginess, fail to concentrate and then i win. I call it 'Lagging them to death'

One opponent commented that with the excessive lag it was more like a turn based game.
