vinnieg: Hmmm, there are contradictions now:
It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty.
And HTC has said that if you root it, they will return the phone back to you, or charge you for repairs.
Yet, if it's not a software related fault, how can they legally do this? as Dingbatt has suggested above. CGA > HTC, so if it's purchased in NZ, you root it, and say the camera/screen fails after a few months, they have to cover it.
@ Dingbatt, yeah I doubt they'll have v1.29 tested for another 2 months also :(
I'll see if I can get clarification on the Warranty issue, because I really want to test out v1.28. My final TelecomTech review is pretty negative in regards to that missing update, I'd like to have a more positive review, but with the software holding it back i can't give it the full recognition it deserves just yet

caldazar: I have been doing some reading and the unlocking via htcdev.com voiding the hardware warranty appears to be a myth.
The hardware warranty stands. The warranty doesn't cover damage if htc think that unlocking has caused the issue. (ie. you screw up and brick the phone so badly that it can't be restored).
huckster: I have to say, I just compared a parallel import HTC One X to a Telecom-bought one (1.28 vs 1.26 I think) and the performance improvement from old to new was very noticeable.
