@old3eyes Did you read my post above?

No Spark staff member could talk about this until official comms is released from SparkNZ unless you want to see a staff member fired!

I read  a lot of your posts above.  Would have been nice if they came back with something though.  I'm sure they could have got a reply via someone in marketing..  I wonder if someone there is allowed to say if they may put a new cell site in  here in Morrinsville..

You are not comparing Apples with Apples! Building of new sites is not the same as launching a complete new service!

You can't be serious.

Hopefully Spark catches up soon now that both Vodafone and 2degrees have VoWiFi live now.

That's new to me. VF supported devices are a very short list compared to 2d:

VF say more device support coming in October.

Spark has a long list of voLTE capable phones and instructions for voLTE calling.

Still no mention of WiFi calling at this time:

Happy Friday, team!

Just seeing if anyone knows if Spark's still planning on implementing VoWIFI, and if so, would it be this side of xmas?

@Aucklandjafa Anyone in the know would be under NDA until SparkNZ release official coms about it

No point in asking as this could put a staff members job on the line

It's not in the latest iOS beta so it's not exactly imminent. VF VoWiFi was in the last major beta before launch which hinted towards the release.

Just move to another provider, that could also put jobs on the line but will happen slower.

When we first moved here all 3 providers were on a water tower 6kms away. Then Spark put up a tower 1.7km away, better but not great. Vodafone's new tower is 1.1km away, again better but neighbours still have to move to front of section to talk. 2Degree's new tower is less than 500m away. I sometimes wonder why I don't have a new sim already 😀

Yeah, I have moved to Voda, their VoWIFI works really, really well (coverage at home is bad from all three providers). Just Spark's network is way ahead of Voda's for general coverage and performance - especially with 4G. Am planning on moving back into town in the next 6 months so will be switching back to Spark then, but would be epic if I could move back earlier

Spark is apparently looking to trial Wifi Calling early this year, so hopefully we’ll see something soon.

Switched to Voda about a month ago as i needed more data and hotspot no way in hell was i gonna pay for the privilege to use my own data without having to make my phone a proxy.

They have since fixed it so ill probably go back terrible coverage at the house in Kapiti. The 5G coverage on Voda is better but not worth the lower 4g coverage nationwide

The WiFi calling on Voda seems to be a bit random sometimes its there sometimes its not.

I bought a Kogan SIM in their Christmas sale to use as a 2nd SIM, and used VoWiFi while in North Taranaki last week. Brilliant, especially talking to my wife who also has it on her phone.

I really don't want to change to Vodafone, but it is such a great feature that I may change until Spark sort it.
