Having the same issue. It's now more of a problem as it affects a site we're working on and need solid access to.
Creating ticket with Telecom now. Glad i was directed to this thread.

Thank you to everyone who has logged cases about this an PM'ed me the case numbers.

Yesterday I managed to get concrete evidence as to the root cause and am escalating this issue the best I can.  I can only re-iterate that the more unique customers who log cases on this issue the higher priority will be assigned and the more this can be escalated.

Thanks to plambrechtsen and his efforts Telecom escalated our very similar issue (explained on this discussion) and have identified the problem as one with their Cache Servers. Our issue has been handed over to the Network Team who handle the traffic going out of NZ. They can take 5 days but at least we're getting somewhere.

Would be interested to know how folks are getting on now.  There was a change made early this afternoon which seems to have significantly improved things from what I have seen.  Any other feedback positive, negative or no change?

any details on the cause of the issue? or the fix applied, file locker sites are still going at a crawl which is rather annoying.

Yep - we've had uninterrupted service since 1.55pm this afternoon. Brilliant :)

Not sure of the details as of yet, but a site running slow is very different from the issue on FB/Google.  So I suggest you check your line speed and all the normal connectivity tests, then log a call with the helpdesk.

I wonder if the maintenance cost of the caching cluster and the bad reputation gained (Telecom has issues with google/facebook/youtube and slow downloads) has outweighed the savings from the system yet.

#RepeatingMistakesOfThePast

/hope my connection never gets migrated off the legacy service which doesn't go through the cache cluster.

been getting connection reset/interrupted with facebook for the last week - was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what it was.

Looks like it was Telecom. Will keep an eye on it now.

Must say offshore sites now seem to be very sluggish over our Telecom connection (unfortunately, including our own which is hosted now on Rackspace)

Anyone got any advice on the best way to measure and compare response times on offshore sites to see if there's in fact an issue (so I can then report fault / problem and pursue)

thanks

(oh - look it's raining outside again)

Oh no...

after enjoying the last few days of no problems, today seems to be on a downhill slide.

My t-stick operating on XT seems to be exhibiting  the same problem today. Home ADSL seems to still be ok.

I hope and prey this gets better soon...

When can we start to enjoy LTE? and faster, problem free browsing?

Just had quite possibly the best customer service I have ever had from an ISP.

I logged a fault on their online faults form.
I got a call on the phone number I used less than 5 minutes later.
Really friendly girl told me she would put me through to broadband team.
Waiting on hold for a few minutes - she said it looks like there is a queue, so she would wait and get them to call me back!
broadband team called me back 5 minutes later
explained issue - they have a notice about intermittent access issues to google and facebook - guy is escalating this now.

freaking awesome.
