gajan: Yes P30 / P30 Pro w/ latest software is supported. DM me if you want me to enable it on your SIM.

Is this limited to upper range handsets sold in NZ? I'd be happy to try on a VoLTE capable Android phone.

It's more reliant on devices having it activated.

Some lower end devices dont have that capability.

Now that VoLTE is coming live in NZ, i'd expect you will see more devices supporting it from Day one.

gajan: Only Spark (not Skinny) at this stage is enabled - you won’t get the warning and it will actually enable VoLTE. I hope that clarifies what your seeing...

Tried a Skinny SIM today, but as above, not available for Skinny yet I guess?

Correct. No skinny yet (the option is there, but it warns you and won’t really achieve much)

Will this come to earlier iOS version, i.e. an iPhone 6 on 12.x?

VoLTE is supported by iOS on iPhone 6 and later. There should be no technical reason why this can't work.

Is there any word on when IMS will be supported for SMS as well? Currently my iPhone is just showing Voice.

Unfortunately it’s more than just the hardware support. It involves software and configuration files. So it’s only on the 6S and above as they are in a supported state from a SW/ Config perspective.

Re SMSoIP - eventually - but for now it’s [SMS] is fully fully supported on 4G.

I have already thrown it out, asking for my friend who now uses it :) I will try the swap SIM into another phone trick just in case (once live on Skinny). He lives in marginal cell coverage and knowing how Spark over reach their L700, I'm hoping it will help a little with voice calls.

I've tried this on my iPhone XR. Enabled VoLTE option, waited 5 hours, restarted.

No VoLTE showing.

I'm in Tauranga and pretty sure spark was only 700mhz 4G only here, might that be a reason why?

More likely activation trigger hasn't completed.

Lower band is more ideal for volte given its ability to penertrate obstructions.
