That actually makes a pretty good case for not doing unlimited mobile data. You'll get some jerk who tethers his phone to his PC and attempts to download the entire internet - bringing the network to its knees.

It's not that simple though is it. You can put traffic management on those guys. Internode, in Australia, used to have really good software for managing this sort of thing.
I see bigger issues around the business case with respect to product management from a marketing perspective.
"Would you like the 1gb plan or the 2gb plan..."... the question just makes a assumption you've already decided 'to buy' and it's just a question now of 'what to buy'. Not of this is to hard to deal with of course, because you can just introduce other 'value add' options, like 'Light box' etc, but it does mean a business change.
I kinda feel like I'm on a round about though, cause we've seen this debate countless times now... it was time and data on dial up, then unlimited dialup but managed dsl, then unmanaged dsl but managed fibre....
I remember people insisting that the internet would just implode if we did unlimited dialup cause of all the 13370-music-heads and now, this week, I'm reading on Facebook, people talking about streaming music to their cars as they drive about rather than using mp3 or the radio.
Reality is that this is just a mater of time really, in my view. That's not to say that today is that time, or even this year or next, I just don't know.
Has anyone been able to get UNODNS working on this service with the Huawei B315s modem/wifi router that they supply?

Doesn't CGNAT break pretty much ever 3rd party DNS service?
I queried the unlimited issue with Spark a few weeks ago. In fact they do allow unlimited data on the residential wireless high speed. If you sign up for the 80GB capped plan, you are charged $5 for additional 5GB until it reaches 50GB ($50 in extra fees). Then you aren't charged anymore and still have unthrottled service.
So there's no barrier to offering unlimited plans, except a philosophical one. We use 125-150GB a month so we can't switch. Not worth an extra $50 a month.
That sounds a bit fishy to me - I would think the $5 keeps adding and adding.

This is incorrect - Its $10 for the first 5GB over the plan allowance, the connection then stops as they have a $10 overage cap set by default. If you require excess data above the $10 5GB pack then it is $20 for an extra 15GB.
