This is a good time to ask - what's the official existing customer 'upgrade' price?

Usb printing port as usual?

Doing that should never net you a free device.. It would be pretty obvious when the old one is returned.

Agents have a few options they can offer. Given that there could be changes I've purposefully not detailed these.

Eh? I think you're responding to people above with crazy schemes for obtaining free modems ; ).

Genuine question on the off the shelf customer buy price. Not a problem if you are unable to answer at this time and prefer to leave that to CSA or website publication at some point.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

*** NOT OFFICIAL ***

They (Spark Helpdesk) confirmed if I renewed my Broadband for a further 12 months it was free, just had to pay the courier fee of $14.95

No USB printing that I can find.

I'll be honest, I'm surprised they are out there already and at that price..

We all knew it would happen eventually. It's a shame though, it's actually a solid device.

Like honestly folk, if you don't want one, Just don't tick the "I want a modem" button!

A way around the courier fee is to get them to agree to rebate you the $199 if you buy it from a Spark store, I also got my CC points as a bonus...

I aim to misbehave.

Store should be offering the same offer. That isn't unique to resolve.

@hio77

I'm using mine bridged now as an AP as the previous router does IPS, categorisation and other good stuff and it looks better than the previous router for wifi.

Any chance we could get phy column in the wireless log to see if we have old devices still connecting and slowing things down? Is it possible to see which wave ac a connection is?  Or any MIMO connection type / stats?

Could we add a default route to another device if the WAN is bridged so NTP etc works?

Will firmware updates be manual downloads or pushed? Does Spark use TR069?

Thanks.

Hi nick,

Watch this space :) the software isn't in its final form.

Firmware from spark is always distributed via tr069. There is currently a minor one appearing on devices.

Hi all. Will the new modem be a notable upgrade to our current pace v5542 which we currently have operating with our fibre connection? We are finding wifi pretty flaky now with the number of devices we have.

We've had a few people staying and had 16 to 18 devices on it for a few days and not had any complaints.
