Reality is folks, this is one small battle. It's clear that that person has some problems and will just come back at some point. Until them "good luck, and good night".

I'm surprised they haven't shown up here yet... Although I know Mauricio will ban hammer them much quicker than twitter did.

Changing the topic slightly... I was again, accused of "you work for Telecom" because I was in the Telecom Exchange visit yesterday, and fighting this good fight today. Some people have no sympathy for others and think we shouldn't either.

Never mind, in the same week I was accused of working for Telecom, Vodafone, TelstraClear before. Anytime you disagree with someone the "you work for them" line comes out. And it's one of the main reasons for immediate ban here on Geekzone. As per the FUG, no personal attacks.

This is the second reply on my ticket:

Hello,

We've also evaluated this account for spam and it falls in violation due to unsolicited @ replies.

In the future, you can report spam directly from the user's profile page. Here's how:

* Log in to Twitter.
* Go to the profile page of the person you wish to report as spam.
* Click "Report [username] for spam" (at bottom right, in sidebar).
* Hit OKAY to confirm.

When you report an account for spam, we also block that account from following you or replying to you. This action doesn’t immediately or definitely cause an account to be suspended, but combine user reports with other spam signals in investigating spam accounts. You can find out more on our "Reporting Spam on Twitter" Help Page:

http://help.twitter.com/forums/26810/entries/64986

Finally, if you prefer to stop receiving notifications when people follow you, you can turn off these notifications by following these steps:

* Log in to Twitter.
* Click the Settings tab
* Click the Notices sub-tab
* Uncheck "Email when someone starts following me" and click "Save"

Thanks for helping to keep Twitter spam-free and apologies for the inconvenience!

trihawkathon

Good stuff guys, we really don't need people like that. Unfortunately it will will just be the tip of the iceberg.

May the farce be with you!

@iphonenewzealand - Yep, we've got a log of all relevant abusive texts up to the time the complaint was lodged with the police.

Thanks once again to the GZ community for your attention to this matter. I for one am feeling very humbled.

@NZ Rob - great stuff.

@c71931f - all the names of staff that were mentioned are public names that can be found on the @TelecomNZ Twitter page or are public figures within the company i.e Paul Reynolds and Frank Mount.

Personally I love to see it when the community pulls together like this. It's times like this that we share a common interest and goal and it doesn't matter which company you use for service, or who you work for, we're all human beings and deserve to be treated as such.

Great Job everyone.

Cheers
