da5id: I'm not on "Total"-anything - just the Adventure 20GB plan, so I assume this change doesn't benefit me at all...

Spong: I was on the Total Home BB 40GB plan (currently at 42GB usage) and logged in to change plans. I was able to select 60, 80 or 100GB options (although they're now called THBB 60GB, THBB +20GB and THBB +40GB).
I changed to the 60GB option at no extra charge, and if this works as it has in the past, it should happen within 48hrs.

Did this work for you? I tried that technique, and got an email overnight saying that my request couldn't be actioned as I'm already on that plan. Oh well, it was worth a crack :-(
Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz
yann: I am currently on the Total Home Broadband 60gb plan which is being increased to 80gb. I was looking to change my plan to the Total Home 60gb plan to take advantage of the national calling and seeing as I don't think I'll use 80gb of data.
The online change form only seems to show the broadband plan changes. I was going to then just "order" the Total Home plan via the website (not using the change form) but it appears that the 60gb Total Home package considers the addon of data as "Pro" and it doesn't seem to allow the capped speed, which is what I have now.
Anyone else in the same boat? Are the capped speeds only available for the lower data limits for Total Home? I'd like to have free national calling plus the 60gb data but would like the safety of the cap instead of the $2/gb overage.
Thanks :)
NonprayingMantis:
Total home broadband + Talk It Up Downunder is $124. That is $9 cheaper than Total Home + Pro, gets you your free national calling and 60GB AND calling to Ozzie. The only downside (that I can see) is that your fixed to mobile rates are not quite as good.
NonprayingMantis:wreck90: I expect the reason is due to the new copyright laws beginning in Sept 1st .
Telecom rightly believe that network utilisation will drop, therefore they know they can add customers without needing additional bandwidth.
Makes sense to me.
lol, as if anyone believes network utilisation will drop any sort of meaningful amount.
rumpty: I had a letter from Telecom a few days ago confirming that if I did nothing, I would remain on the "double data" Total Home Lite" plan. Well, that's ok, but to confuse me, when logging on this morning to check my usage, I found that my normal 20GB data use had been reset to zero, although the normal period for me runs till 13th of September.
So I now have six days to use the normal months usage. Is anyone else having this experience?
Is it a fiendish plan by Telecom/copyright holders to tempt me to download some movies??!!

The volume of internet traffic coming into New Zealand has dropped sharply since new anti-piracy rules came into force, says an industry insider.
An employee from one of the country's largest internet companies, who did not want to be named, said the demand for international traffic had fallen after the Government's copyright law came into effect last Thursday.

Bussani: Huh. My non-total home adventure broadband just reset (at the expected time) and has risen from 20gb to 40gb. Has telecom bumped up their other plans now as well?
