XT UPDATE: 2.30PM
Telecom advises that the XT network remains under close monitoring and is stable, with the majority of services operating at normal levels throughout the day.
This is following an issue which affected predominantly SMS services, for customers in the lower half of NZ, for several hours last night.
Customers experiencing residual issues today, in most cases inability to send text messages, have had these addressed by resetting their devices.
This can be done by taking the following actions:
1. Keep their device powered on
2. Remove your battery from the device
3. Remove your SIM card from the device
4. Reinsert your SIM card
5. Reinsert your battery
6. Power up the device as normal
Any individual customers still experiencing any issues have been advised to call 123 and follow the voice prompts. A specialist customer support team is in place to help with any issues.
Additional action is also being taken to ensure these residual issues are fully resolved.

well theyre the ones who are ment to be fixing it and stoping this from happening. not my fult.
I wonder if you've ever fixed something for someone only to find that the next day it develops another unrelated fault, could be a piece of tech gear or a car or whatever - it's frustrating for everyone but it doesn't mean that someone hasn't done their job properly on the hardware side - could be software or a whole range of things.
The fact is that when you've got technology you've got the potential for failure, let's cut the boys (and girls) at the front line a bit of slack
MichaelMadman: I restarted my iphone by putting into aeroplane mode turning of taking out simcard everything. Still nothing :\ Then i try ring telecom and my call drops. Srsly :\
friedCrumpet: Wow, is this really how companies think? That before twitter customers didn't care about timely information about service outages?
It strikes me as absolutely bizarre that one has to use some 3rd party website in order to get timely information out of a company.

This culture lets all hold hands and say everyone gets a 'achievement' and no one's to blame drives me nuts.
