Having Issues with getting on Wikipedia, I get this error. Using TelecomDNS.

The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

im having issues as well. facebook, engadget, autoblog are really slow.

I raised it with the helpdesk again last night it was passed on to tier 2 after the call centre guy tried to access engadget and nrl from a computer on the outside network and they did not work for him. On the internal network they worked fine for him. So its likely to be the cache server.

My response from Telecom seems to show that they know the thing causes problems, and gave me a workaround for the one example I gave, but fails to address the big picture at all:

If you are getting issues with Facebook site then you can try accessing the secure face book site from https://www.facebook.com

Secure site are not cached and should not cause issues.
If you do find that you are getting this issues with other sites as well then you can hard refresh from your browser to view the new page.
If you are using Internet Explorer you can hard refresh holding Control (Ctrl) key then pressing Function 5 (F5) key.

but not all the problomatic sites have secured HTTP access though?

Werid, I'm currently at my Mum's house and she's with Telecom on one of those all-in-one plans that include national calls and broadband for one monthly price. I've not experienced any of the issues reported here -- with Facebook and Wikipedia and all the other sites I normally visit.

Router etc is all set at factory defaults. On St Heliers (AKL) exchange -- I wonder if the fault is specific to customers connected to certain exchanges as I see a few people from Auckland Central but not many from other areas.

Those thinking of moving to another ISP might want to consider that other ISPs have faults from time to time too. I'm with Orcon at home and for a long time they had horrible international speeds and while that is now fixed they're now having DNS issues where DNS lookups will randomly fail.

Seems like regardless of who you go with you'll have your share of faults. :(

I am actually getting the issue here in Christchurch - Sites mentioned above are slow or not loading. Youtube is slow.
