Hi

Anyone access Hosted Exchange via Outlook 2011 on a Mac?

I have a client who uses Hosted Exchange with Telecom Business Hub. I'm having problems configuring Outlook 2011 for Mac. Can't get it to work, there are no instructions for it on the Business Hub website (instructions for Outlook 2007 took a fortnight to debug!) and the helpdesk can't help. Outlook 2007 works fine.

Settings are:

Username: customer's full email address
Password: customer's password
Server: MDRSRWMBX02V1.SDPROOT.SDP.NET.NZ
Internet connection: TelstraClear (I haven't tried the Mac on a Telecom connection)

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Cheers

Tim

Have you gone into the More Settings section - Connection tab - Exchange Proxy settings?
Check an Outlook 2007 that is working to get the correct settings for that section.

Edit: That's assuming of course that the MAC version is the same as Windows :D

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Good point - I'll try the OWA and proxy servers instead:

webmail.telecombusinesshub.co.nz and mail.telecombusinesshub.co.nz

Try the following ...
  1. Click Tools
  2. Click Accounts
  3. Click Exchange account
  4. Enter the following:
    • Email address [email address]
    • Method: User Name and Password
    • User Name: [email address]
    • Password: [password]
    • Server: webmail.telecombusinesshub.co.nz
  5. Do not tick Configure automatically
  6. Click Add Account
Don't have Outlook 2011 myself so unable to verify the steps :/

Bingo!
  • User Name: [email address]
  • Password: [password]
  • Server: webmail.telecombusinesshub.co.nz
I was originally trying the long server name I had used when configuring Outlook 2007 manually. Sometimes the complexities of a previous install overshadow the obvious and simple solution of the next.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
