just connected with Telecom VDSL (from slingshot ADSL before).

here are my specs prev
Slingshot Naked unlimited
down: 18Mbps
up: 1Mbps
att down/up: 21db/10db

now with Telecom VDSL (Naked)
down:19Mbps
up: 2.9Mpbs
att down/up:23db/57db
about 1Km on exchange.

there's no much difference and my up db was so high from 10db prev.

the bad news, I cant watch netflix now.. keeps buffering... and could not handle it.. tested on my atv, ps3.

Im so frustrated with my connection and lost my ability to watch Netflix... I thought Telecom is much better on streaming international sites.
also my up db was so high... i thought upstream would be at least 5Mbps with my previous db of only 10.
I would expect my down but yeah, seem upgrading to VDSL is useless and wanted to go back with Slingshot with this performance.

Telecom, is there any chance this can be at least check my upstream and why I could not stream netflix without buffering (buffers every min).

Im using unblock-us service to watch netflix.

If you PM me your details I can have a look at your line. 1KM from the exchange is getting pretty borderline though. Netflix issues could be any number of things.

thanks! sent PM.

btw, this might help...
the chorus tech called someone from provisioning to switch me from ADSL to VDSL then chorus tech hook his router to test connection.
the other party says that he can only get 4Mbps down and I was so shocked. I mentioned to chorus tech that I had 18Mbps down previously and I showed him my last router details. The chorus tech about to switch it back to ADSL but then I insisted and should get more than that.
then third party did something and they mentioned I should now be getting 20down/3up - so I OK'd the connection.

but then my netflix.. this is importan to family... i hope something can be done.. otherwise I will switch back..

regards

Just to update on this.

my down/up still 19/2.9 but made difference on atv2 netflix.. can now stream in HD.

only downside now is Netflix on PS3 still buffering every min. looks like Telecom connectivity with Sony PSN is not quite good..
hopefully this will get ok soon.

the fact that your attenuation is up that high now, would indicate some sort of line problem.

the tech did install a splitter and a fresh run on cat5/6 right?

your attenuation should sit around the same point between all resyncs. yours doubled. thats not right at all.

im sure Yyrael will put a test on your line, and the fault should present itself..

vdsl attenuates faster, and you are borderline. that being said, something doesnt look right.

I get the feeling that DLM is trying for a speed higher than possible and the line is falling over as a result but I'm not familiar enough with DLM to know the specifics. The connection is very borderline though. Sadly I can't run the same line checks as BBHD can since I'm a connections specialist :P

DLM profile changes shouldnt alter his attenuation, but a DLM change is very likely.

i suspect there was an derp with the installation however. something just doesnt sit right.

I would agree on this one... but Telecom complex team says that it is under 10 day adjustment.. but did mentioned to them how come my attenuation just went too high.. plus the it downgrade from 19Mbps to 3Mbps...
they still dont want to send tech to check it out.. sigh..

the fact that your attenuations bouncing around that much, is concerning. DLM training period or not. it shouldnt happen.

sometimes it takes a fair amount of work to get past the usal process. DO NOT attack it as a my speed is slow, that will always land in wait out the 10 day period, you need to be very specific about your fault.
