Hi

We are currently preparing to launch a new selfcare package - SMS Self Service.

It is live now although in final Beta testing, so I thought I'd make it available through Geekzone to get some feedback.

You just need to text the relevant keyword to the free short code 2424.

Note: As this is still in Beta release it may be offline occasionally for maintenance.  Also it is not guaranteed to be error free.

Please have a go and post feedback here.

There is some fuzzy logic applied, so case doesn't matter and spaces can be placed between words.  Therefore "BUYBIGVALUE" and "Buy Big Value" would both work.

Cheers

Paul.

Sounds cool, Although is this needed? Isnt USSD superior to sms, plus there is also the app and website

Whilst the App and the Website are great for people with smartphones, SMS is a good solution for people with lower end feature phones.  On some of those the USSD menu can be a bit clunky.  Also, people are often more used to using SMS so it is an easier and better experience for them.

I see. Also I think the combos should be put into weekly and monthly groups in the USSD too. Better than having to go through pages

USSD is also particularly useful when data is not available for whatever reason (reached monthly cap or no data plan - unless Skinny app data is not-metered).

This gets more interesting.  I have two Skinny SIMs .  My main one a Telecom ported number in my Nexus 4 and an original  Skinny one in an old Samsung Eternity messaging phone..  This works from the Eternity  fine but not the Nexus.  When I swap the SIMs it still works on the  Eternity but not the Nexus. Put the SIM into a Nokia  lumia 520  and no go.   Put it into a Samsung GS1 and it worked once   but not a second time.  Is there a limit  on the number of times it is responded to ??   I can send as many as I like from the Eternity  but the SGS1  only sent one

Ha.  The response finally came back on my Nexus 4 .   Query sent at 1.38pm and response arrived back at 4.20pm..
