Just thought I would make a quick topic on the email solution now offered by Xtra - namely Yahoo!Xtra Pro Mail.

I am using it quite a bit now and have set up numerous domain based email addresses as well, and am able to now manage this all in one mailbox.....Yippee!!

Currently I am accessing the following using my @xtra.co.nz login details:

My Gatward.co.nz Domain emails
My Yahoo.co.nz emails - I am just using POP to access these - saves loging in as my other yahoo.co.nz login
My xtra.co.nz emails
My old Xtra aliases

To keep it pretty, I have set up some mail rules which sort the mail into folders based on what address they are sent to.

Then when it is time to send an email - I just select which address I want it to go from.....and that's as difficult as it gets :)

I could do this with my Gmail too - but the annoying thing was that it added the gmail address in the address line along with the domain address - so it was kind of sending it on behalf of my domain...

I have also configured a page on my Bubble called Email - and have the inboxes for my Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo and Xtra all on the same page.....

Anyone else loving the mail capabilities? - post migration :)
Anyone else using a similar solution?

Hi
Maybe you could help me get to the same point.  So far I am stuck as follows:
1. I went to www.xtramail.co.nz and got redirected to the bubble web site
2. I entered my username@xtra.co.nz and my password
3. It then took me to a Yahoo User ID screen - but I don't have a Yahoo ID
4. So now what do I do?

Ta
Mike

The login on the Yahoo! is the same Xtra login...

Just remember to use your full @xtra.co.nz email address as the username :)

I have not used my xtra account for a long time. It makes no difference to me if the bubble works, or screws my non-used xtramail up.

I decided to have a look for the first time today - heres my experience so far...

  • Went to webmail.xtra.co.nz
  • Clicked the registration link
  • Registered
  • Logged in
  • Got unlimited storage for mail
  • Briefcase showed 100MB, + 30MB for sub accounts till I logged out and back in, now at 1054MB for main briefcase.
  • Flickr account is pro - very cool, this will get a lot of use
  • Email interface is okay - I actually live in webmail for my personal email, and have about ten email addresses all pointed at one 'master' gmail account. This account now forwards a copy of all my mail to my Xtra/Yahoo account. So I can use either at any time (basically redundant mail interfaces for me, to some degree)
  • Our Xtra login is awful, my partner made it up on the spot when her 1st choice was unavailable. Its a six letter unusual word with a number 0 substitution for one of the 'o's in it. But you can also log into the bubble/mail with an xtra email alias, and I have a nice short 3 letter one, so login is that tiny bit faster.
  • The mail interface automatically lists all my xtra aliases - including some I forgot i had!!
  • All in all, very smooth, no problem, showing lots of potential.
  • Doesnt "blow gmail away", but for me, it could be a more attractive service. Only time will tell.

What didnt I like? Well, its all a bit 'messy' to some degree, and moving around Xtras various services, I still need seperate logins for things. Why cant my bubble include all my Telecom account info/access/logins ?
