In regarding of the 30mb data in the spark, if my mum using purely using viber, whatsapp text message service only and turn off those unnecessary updates, is 30mb going to be last for a month? or am i really pushing it?

Unlikely to be to much, as Viber can do basic video and pictures and you can find depending on the quality of the camera that she could go through 30Mb VERY quickly.... and (Unless it has changed from when I was with Spark for a little) Spark has casual data rates which are annoying due to the high cost so once the 30Mb is used she could end up spending well over the $19 anyway.

If she has android, configure the data limit setting so it cuts her off at around 28MB (to allow for any slight network differences)

test run for a month and see how much of the 28MB she uses or what day of the month it runs out.

You get 100MB for $9 on skinny. 500MB for $16. They also do data top ups $4 for 200MB and $1 for 40MB

Very happy with the service we have on 3 phones.
