Today I got a text offering 1gb for $5 for the long weekend (lasts 3 days) and decdied to take it up as I'm working remotely and purposely wanted to save my other rollover and bonus data for next two weeks.

However this new 'long weekend' data isn't being used.

I'm on the $16 carry over plan and this is what I started with a couple of hours ago:
959 MB rollover data
450 MB bonus data - expires 16 days (I've been getting 500MB bonus each renewal lately)
1024 MB bonus data - expires 3 days (long weekend promo)

I just happen to check app, and the 1024 MB bonus is still there, which I expected to be used first as it expires first. BUT the original 450 bonus balance is down to 154 MB!

Why is the data with the shortest expiry not used first?
Now I might not get a chance to use the 1gb bonus over 3 days, which is a waste of buying it, and next week I'll have less data.

Am I alone on this, or is this usual practice?

That seems odd. I too would expect usage of the earliest expiring data first - it certainly does when you have Bonus and Rollover data.

I don't know how Skinny bill system works. But am I missing something. You posted this on the 2nd Feb which is Thursday. I would expect any long weekend thing to kick in @ 00:00 4/2/17. Lasting till 00:00 7/2/17

Anything I suggest or say is my own thoughts and not provided by anyone else unless stated

I have had confirmation from Skinny that their system uses 'free' data first, and then data that expires the soonest.

Therefore the 500 Mb monthly bonus I was getting was 'free', and was used first (even though it 2 weeks to run), before the limited 3 day data I had purchased.
