Since Monday night, I have not been able to get any Twitch livestreams to load over our Fiber connection.

The usual suspects Ghostery and Ublock Origin weren't the issue (or resetting the modem many times), and I see over on the Twitch subbreddit a number of Spark customers are having similar issues, and also some Bigpipe customers. (Over vodafone and 2degrees mobile its going fine). Vods and all other internet traffic seems fine - just twitch live broadcasts.

Anyone else (other providers) having this issue?

Yep, Spark Fibre just getting blank video screen, chat seems to be working and tells me number of viewers.

Same on Skinny mobile. Using application on iPad.

Edit just started working on Skinny mobile, Spark fibre still dead.

I've been having slow 1080p performance on Crunchyroll too, Spark Fibre, started ~Monday as well.

Last night I had to drop to 720p to watch any videos on there

Yes, exactly. Chat works, old vods work - just the livestream wont play.

I contacted Spark, and they said their was no issue and to contact Twitch.

I've submitted a report to twitch, don't know if I'll hear back

It was just a drop down menu, and I selected blank video from options and then it just popped up thanks for your feedback.

That's on windows 7 version. Also on windows it came up  2000: Network Error.

I'm not running ghostly or any ad blockers, it's coming up through twitch's own applic on windows.

Bit of an update.

Thought I'd try running a VPN.

Bingo! It works when the VPN is running.

Did a bit of testing with a free one and after the initial connection went OK, you can shut it off and the stream runs fine. You can even alter the bitrate, etc.

A temp fix I suppose till I find out whats up.

It seems to be the initial connection, because once it is connected the VPN is not needed. I tried opening another stream on a different tab and the errors happened on the new stream, but the stream that was already going was fine.

Can also confirm Twitch streams do not load (Network Error 2000).

Using a VPN works, but only certain locations i.e. some AU and NA servers don't work.

On Bigpipe with the same issue. There’s a timeout connecting to their video-weaver endpoint in SYD. I’ve passed on lots of debug information to Bigpipe support, hope it’s fixed soon. Kinda amateur that this could occur in the first place and be down for so long.

As of 12PM today, can still confirm streams are still not loading on Spark.

Can confirm the connection issue with https://video-weaver.syd01.hls.ttvnw.net/ from the debug console.

Bigpipe user here with the same problems, 2000 network error for all live streams. Chat works fine as mentioned already.

@Talkiet can we safely say this is not a twitch issue but a spark/bigpipe network issue?

If it is does spark have enough info for troubleshooting?

Looks like tracert to live-syd.twitch.tv cannot route past through 122.56.119.86 (still under Spark's network), it usually reaches the the Sydney server (i.e. 103.53.48.45) before terminating since Twitch refuses ICMP pings (obviously to prevent ping flooding and DoS etc).

No issues with my usual twitch streams (Starcraft 2) on Spark VDSL.

I did have to VPN to home from hawaii to test and all seems ok?
