How long does it normally take to move a fibre connection from one ISP to another?  I'm trying to move my father's UFB to BigPipe and he still doesn't have a confirmed switch date and so far it has been 9 days.  Is this normal?

I thought a switch from one ISP to another was a simple thing?

@BigPipeNZ can you help escalate this?

It takes 4 hours to transfer a primary UFB connection to another provider...

4 business hours, and only if it's on Chorus. Takes longer for LFCs.

The connection is with Ultrafast Fibre, not chorus.

I got caught out with a switch from Spark to Bigpipe.  Spark requiring 30 days notice before switching.

So it may depend on who you are switching from.

OK, cool thanks for your replies.

My dad managed to chat with an agent who confirmed the switch should be happening on the requested date, so fingers crossed.

Sorry I missed this RXV, I was off yesterday! 9 days is a really long time - I wouldn't know the reason for it without looking into the account. Sounds as though you've got the problem sorted. If you have any other problems, drop us a message and I'll see if we can help your dad out. :)
