We try and keep things simple - your connection date is also your billing date. Changing this will add system complexity which we try to avoid.

Check out our FAQ for a bit more info. 🙂

Couple of things to remember.

Everyone pays in advance for connections, not what has been used (normally up front bill when signing up and then 30 days later...) and excess needs to be accounted for and added to it.

ISPs are billed for use of infrastructure and wholesale connections with their own support and admin costs on top... that too has it's own cycle. Which they have no control over

Easiest way, keep them synchronous to prevent overlap/over-charging/under-charging.

And I wouldn't be thinking about cancelling and trying to shift the start date by signing up again. These same cycles have their own cool-off periods to ensure a clean slate or easy transfer... (hence ISP move issues if you log a cancel job first incorrectly..)

I've got to say I did find that a giant PITA when I was with Bigpipe. I like to have every payment go out the day after I get paid.
