Hi all, I’m on Spark VDSL and have a weird issue with Apple devices. The last couple of days I’ve noticed Apple Music would intermittently not load any songs when I am on my home network. I’ve tested further this morning and intermittently cannot play anything on Apple TV+ or Apple Music. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Tested on iPad, iPhone and Apple TV. I also have problems opening App Store sometimes.

My setup is a Spark Smart Modem with 2 Smart Mesh. I’ve reset both Mesh units. Restarted the Smart Modem. Also tried turning off both Mesh units and connected only to the router. Tried Apple TV connected with Ethernet. Still have the issue.

Just to clarify ‘intermittent’ - sometimes it won’t load at all, sometimes it’s just the ‘listen now’ section won’t load. On the Apple TV app sometimes the Apple originals won’t load at all, sometimes it just won’t play the episode. And then randomly, at times it does all work fine!

I think there was a post about something like this the other day.
Try changing your dns to Google or cloudflare and see if that fixes it.

I’ve had this and have been taking to Spark about it this morning.

My own fix was changing the default DNS servers from Spark to Cloudflare and has been fine ever since.

Cheers guys. I've changed my DNS to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1). Seems to be working now.

I posted a couple days ago had same problems changed dns to one of the dns under sparks other dns form sparks website and working again, tried again this morning with dns set back to auto the the problem is still happening I’m on fibre
App Store was ok this morning so I checked music and and that was the same problem as before intermittent it only seems to be affecting Apple TV/music/App Store intermittently at lest I know it’s not just me

@Hemi88 I am now having the same issue as you (on Skinny fibre) funnily enough, after commenting on your thread about it.

 

I couldn't even access support.apple.com on the web earlier today on my Skinny fibre (no custom DNS set).

must be something up with spark don’t know what going on been intermittent since Thursday night

Thanks guys. I am glad to hear it's not just me. I didn't really fancy a conversation with Spark helpdesk as it would probably be an hour walking me through all the basic steps I have already taken (have you tried turning it off and on again?). I hope they can figure out the problem on their end. As it happens I am switching to Stuff Fibre next month.

I’ve noticed the problem too. I have some of devices set to a DNS proxy so didn’t notice until recently. Be good to understand what’s happening with Sparks DNS

iOS app store updates is giving me grief over the last 3 days. First try in the mornings and I get the whole white page with "Can not connect to App Store Retry" message, then short time later I get only half the store loading, then into updates and they load but no icons but they still download but this morning I got "Unable to install please try again later". Now at time of writing it has gone back to "Can not connect to App Store Retry".

 

This affects two iPhone 7 and two iPads.

 

Apple - Support - System Status is all green.





Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Auckland. I haven't had any issues this evening so maybe it's been fixed.

Just tried on my brothers phone about 8:30 and the App Store/atv app worked, just tried again about 15 mins ago and it’s not working again on auto dns (Hamilton )
