New Skinny Sim in new Device,

Can make calls ok,

can recieve calls ok.

Can receive txts

Problem = Can't send txt

I've configured the APN as per this page, (though that likely not even impact 'standard txts'...)..

APN is not related to SMS sending

Are you meaning MMS / PXT you can't send? They are APN related

no, I definitely mean a standard 'SMS' message.

Agreed probably not APN related

And strangely - can 'recieve' txt msg's.

Yes, have a Minutes/txt/data plan active and have credit.

(and I can make calls = that suggests the plan is definitely active and working)

I tried sending a MMS/PXT - and I was able to send that successfully.

So thats more unusual - standard SMS txt msgs are the only ones which won't 'send'...

I was not able to send SMS when I had enabled volte with my old xiaomi with the cheat codes, drop back to 3g and they would send just fine. Perhaps see changing to 3g helps if you can.
