My parent has a Pixel 4a 5G which was working well until the 3G network shutdown.

Now everything works except making or receiving calls.

I’ve had a look at settings and can’t see anything obvious that needs to change.

Any other Pixel 4a owners around that can comment on their experience?

They’d prefer not to buy a new one if at all possible.

 Cheers,

Ed

pretty sure you are only going to get VoLTE on Pixel 6 and up in NZ (unless the hack linked above works for you)>
Probably easier just to buy a new phone.

I’d rather not root the device so looks like I’ll need to grab a new phone.

 Thanks for the pointers.

 Cheers

Isn't there a pixel dial code like *#*#4636#*#* to force LTE etc? I have no idea if that works or is persistent. There may be other codes required.

The problem is not forcing LTE; it's forcing Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) i.e. VoIP.
