Since my games rig only boots every 1 in 3 times and is old enough to get frame-rate drops whilst playing Pong, I would like a shiny new processor so I can start building a new games rig and seeing what all this 3D business is like. You know.. like Doom.
Hubby plays a heap of games and I would like to too. He starts to show me how to play them, then he just takes over. If I had my own - I could learn my OWN way!!
I need this new PC. I haven't bought myself a new PC for 6 years. All of the computer equipment in my house is old model and not even handle XP very well. I couldnt afford a new PC as salary is so low. I tried hard to find another job and it is pretty tough out there at the moment.
That is why I am praying god that hopefully I can win this PC equipment so I dont need to reboot my PC everytime while blue screens shows up.
I have just bought myself a gaming PC, but now can hardly use it as my missus is using it constantly to play her city building games, with one of these I can start building her her own PC so she will leave mine alone!!
I have a large wooden entertainment unit with a CD-Rack that has been gutted and a computer mounted inside. Currently I'm running an Athlon 2400XP and 512mb ram which is just sooooo slow that i cant play any HD content with AC3 Audio, its like watching a slideshow. It's all rather embarrasing when the new girlfriend comes over and she wants to watch a movie and she ends up watching a slide-show instead.
My poor quad-core media centre pc is just not up to the mustard any more. I have four freeview tuners, and want to add a satellite tuner as well, but I just don't have the available cycles to record five streams at once, and transcode the recordings into other formats (iPod etc.) at the same time. An I5/I7 would of cource eat this load for breakfast (and lunch, and dinner), whilst not breaking a sweat - sweet!!

I'd like one to replace my aging home Linux server. Looking to build a ESXi whitebox and re-install my current Gentoo Linux mail and webserver back onto it, as well as FreeNAS and Windows Server 2003.
I am continuously looking at upgrading my PC. I am also continously scheming and planning new ways of sneaking the funding past the missus. My current AMD 4200+ CPU is struggling (in my view), although since CafeWork and Farmville are working fine the wife can't see the issue. And the kids find their PetVille works like clockwork, damn it's cute big puppy-dog eyes!
I am more than willing to update my mobo to fit a brand spanking new super-flash Intel Core i5 processor - better start the propaganda plans now!!

I just moved house and now have my lovely 1080p LCD in my living room instead of my bedroom for the first time. Naturally, I now want to build an HTPC to sit with it - I'd already started planning and a core i5 seems to be the way to go - surpassed only by a free core i5 :P
On the server back-end (where the i5 would be used), running KVM on Ubuntu, with Amahi (http://www.amahi.org/) in a VM, serving media over DLNA to local LAN (wired or wifi).
On the client-side, will likely use Boxee (http://boxee.tv/), or XBMC on an old-school xbox. Any DLNA-compliant client will do (PS3, XBox 360, Wii, win media, itunes, etc).
Additional awesomeness will eventually include: Multi-seat configurations (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MultiseatX) on the server, or my present system, where the multiple seats will connect (via NX, VNC, XDMCP or RDP) to choices of desktops running in a VM. Will also offer PXE boot images/systems for visiting guests.
All this will be FLOSS, so replicatable & modifyable to anyone... at no cost
