mdf: - I've always hated having to remember a separate log on as well as password. Can you have an option to sign in using your email address?

Great idea, I'll look into this.

- Any plans for a mobile option? A huge part of my browsing is on mobile, and I'd be interested in your plans here given that browser extensions are a bit of an issue on mobile.

Short answer is 'yes'.  A bit longer answer is yes, but it's difficult.  An android firefox implementation shouldn't be far off, and I expect there should be ways to support other android browsers.  iOS is much more difficult because of what restrictions Apple has on their system.  Mobile is, we realise, very important.

- I do have an adblocker installed. If I block ads and browse to a partner site, will they still get my revenue?

freitasm answered, but I'll state it as well.  If you use an adblocker, that won't conflict in any way with partners receiving money for your visits.

Signed up; really can't see any difference in page load times either way.

You should now be able to log in with either username or email on both the website and the plugin.  Please let me know if you have any troubles with this.

The icon that the plugin puts on the browser toolbar just changed to have what looked like a "lightning bolt" (or charging symbol?) over it - stayed that way for a few minutes, and then went back to "normal".

What does this mean?

This indicates there has been some trouble with connecting to our API server.  It does need tweaking though, since usually there's no problem. You can force it to show up by connecting to some webserver directly via IP.  There may be some other conditions under which it shows up when in fact there is no issue.

If it stays on while you're doing regular browsing, then it may indicate a genuine problem.

Overall, it does need tweaking to be a more reliable indicator of troubles.

If you see a red symbol, this indicates trouble with your authentication, and you will need to log into the plugin again.

Email log in works well, thanks.

However, I've just had an issue in Chrome where the extension disappeared altogether and I had to reinstall. Was straightforward, but I didn't do anything (active) to uninstall it. Will keep an eye on it and re-post if it disappears again.

Are you sure you don't have multiple "Personas/Profiles" on Chrome and switched between then?

Yep, positive. Just the one version of me on this notebook. It was just the webpass extension; everything else was normal.

If the extension disappears again, can you please check in settings->extensions, and see if it has been disabled in there, and if there is any message attached to it?

I checked and it seemed to have disappeared entirely (i.e. wasn't there and had been deactivated). I will keep an eye on it though.

Windows 8.1 + Chrome 47.0.2526.16 beta-m (64-bit) operating in desktop mode, if it helps.

Happened again today - and whilst the "lightning bolt" was visible the Geekzone pages started showing Ads again AND the yellow "Thanks for testing" banner went away.  Refreshed page a couple of times, no difference.

It may have been a coincidence, but going back to "example.webpass.io" (in another tab) seemed to fix it.

Just signed up

Using Chrome on Win 10 desktop.
As a subscriber, I turned browsing with adverts on. Webpass seems a little quicker, but hard to tell to the naked eye.
