reven: maybe doing staged post background colour as well depending on votes. just something subtle and not overly distracting.

so posts with lots of votes are easier to see.

Please no, it's surely plenty big and bright enough :)

Could I suggest the +1 is shrunk and just displayed with a number next to it, by the other post buttons (and in a similar style)?  It seems pretty intrusive as it is.

I find it's location and size very jarring.

if the button is moved so its not so in your face, like up with the other buttons.  it could be hard to see what posts are the most popular/agreed with.

having a slightly different background color (similar to the "answer" post, just not as extreme) could help out, without being so in your face.

and varying colours
#d3d3d3
#dfdfdfdf
#efefefef
etc, so slight changes
could be a quick way to tell "how agreed with" a post is, without having to read the actual number.

Unless you are going to replace the number with the colour, you would still end up seeing the number.

With the other buttons also having bright bold colours, the interface already reminds me of Windows XP, I am not in favour of any additional large bright bold buttons personally.

if you make the button similar to + Friend, maybe:
+ {Count}
Then it would be little, not distracting, but still visible.

I agree with not liking huge colourful button.

Just suggesting stuff to play with, see what looks good.

Actually I've just found you new feature, but must say, it's location is quite distracting. Could it be moved to the Twitter/blog/quote line rather than just above the body. It makes quoted messages hard to follow on first glance

not sure if "concur" is the right word.

I was just on a thread about car insurance if your WOF has expired. Someone explained and quoted the law saying you are still insured.

I wouldn't say I agree/concur with this, I didn't understand it completely or know if it was the complete truth. But I did want to "thank"/"like" that post.

Facebook and GZ release a major new feature on the same day. Coincidence? I think not.

Nice feature, not so hot on implementation (sorry, I feel like being a bit brutally honest).

I feel that the right place for this sort of thing is in the left hand post header, underneath the user's post and friend count. Though, that said, it's related to the post, so it should be where the post-related items are. At present, that's not well defined, as we have both post and user items in the post header, and the "quote button area" for lack of a better term (set answer is the odd one out in the post header, it's not user related, but everything else is).

So, given that, I don't know what the best location is, but it's not where it is now.

Secondly, to me, a better method to display the "+1" count is to use the button, and lose the text. If it says "+2", clicking it makes it "+3", and changes the button colour indicating you've +1'd already. Clicking it again sets it back to "+2", and removes the colour. Not sure how you'd represent 0 though.. "+0" ?

I also don't like "concur". "Thanks" is a very sensible non-loaded term (unlike "Like").

I concur with "Chur" with or without the "Bro" suffix.

I am out today but reading your comments. Like the idea of button with text and different colour. No different colour for post itself, too confusing.

i like the idea you're prepared to spend the time on something so obvously frivolous AND put up with the immediate criticism after giving them what they just asked for :)
