Just noticed the new "options" mouseover that has the stalk user options.  But if I do it for myself it's empty.

Yes, you can't stalk yourself (and the Stalk option is nothing new, existed for months now as a button under the avatar).

We currently build the menus on the fly and if you have no available options for that specific user then the menu will be empty. I will work on a second version that will build the menus "on the side" and if there's at least one option then show it.

For the record you can see a combination of "Stalk", "PM", "Report", "Blog" and "Add friend" there if those were valid options.

I'm all for conserving vertical space, perhaps you could consider removing the text from the badges in the post side bar, and aligning them in on horizontal row. Crude photoshop on iPad mock up ensues.

Can I ask about the five stars under people's usernames? I now have 4/5 gold stars. What does it actually signify? There isn't a tool tip when you hover your mouse pointer over it.

The stars (and medals for silver medals for moderators, gold medals for administrators) are equivalent to the levels of "geekiness" below them.

Or... move the icon beside the username, albeit scaled down a little. Like the RSS icon beside your username?
