All of a sudden I seem to be getting endless emails every time someone adds to a thread I participated in. This never used to happen (maybe it got caught by a spam filter than now doesn't catch it or something?)

How do I stop it?

Change your profile options to once a day or once only until you visit the thread.

Now, I am starting to wonder whether something is broken.

I straightaway did what BDFL suggested and promptly continued to receive emails for replies to all the threads...!

Is there a global way of unticking the box @hio77 refers to above? I do not really want ANY emails telling me people have replied - I am content to find that out on my own recognisance when I visit!

If I'm scrolling using my thumb on the phone or tablet if I'm not setting random posts as "Answer" I often seem to trip the watch thread flag.

It's gone bonkers. 18 emails in the last 5 hours, yet until recently I never saw any of them.

I'd hate to add Geekzone to my @Blackhole folder...!

You didn't clear your existing notification queue as pointed out in the reply above.

I've done it. Make sure your profile is changed so you have set the default to be NOT NOTIFY.

Thanks. I have (assuming no tick in the box is not notify). I thought I had done the clearing thing  but obviously forgot.

Blowed if I know why it suddenly started doing that. Gremlins.

All of a sudden I seem to be getting no emails every time someone adds to a thread I participated in!

Opposite of @Geektastic

Nothing has changed, I checked my profile and all seems normal. Anyone else?

It be gremlins, I tell ee - gremlins! Hang a dead cat in the GZ server room, walk round the server 3 times backwards chanting "Get out, gremlins" and take a salt water bath daily for a week.
