For signing a contract you would have gotten additional benefits over people without, and this means you were happy at the time you signed you were happy with the package provided for two years, luckily you get included when the others get an upgrade too, free of charge, so it's not like it's that big of a problem!

True but I'm guessing you got something for free to have signed up for 1-2 years. I'm 2 months into a 12 month contract. I got a new modem as part of the deal. If I want to change I can bite the bullet and pay $199 or I can accept I signed a contract and am stuck for now.

As far as I know you have to option not to sign the contract and pay the direct costs.

Early Termination contracts these days have become more about staying with the ISP than sticking to that plan, No one is expecting them to necessarily increase the plan size for free but larger plans even at a higher price should not be too much to expect.

Is it too much to expect the availability of larger plans for those bound to the ISP by contract?

lucky: most of the increases this year from major isps will have covered ALL customers including those on contract. I have LOTS of xtra customers on contract who all got a free bump to their data allocation last month. Cost NOTHING for them.

My ISP Unleash, released new pricing and those on contract could take up the extra data within their pricing structure so if I was paying $100 and the new plans were $90 for 90GB and $110 to 110GB, I would be able to get the 90GB.

60GB is fine for us, we go over now and then but no biggie. Still cheaper than other options out there, if I shifted to Telecom it would cost us an extra $40-$45 a month.

We received a promotional letter via snail mail from telecom with a plan $85 a month 30GB data and first two month free if we signed up for a year. Still too expensive and we would loose 30GB.

So very happy with Vodafone, the plan we started out on was 30GB and then 45GB and then it went to 60GB and we've been with them for a year and a bit so no complaints here.

Thats right, the competition even Telecom moved last month and we have at least 3 weeks before Vodafone moves. I am now actively looking elsewere and I doubt I am the only one.

Telecom 120GB for $105 and I pay 60GB for $97.50

Thread is about data caps so not sure where you are coming from with that comment.

Do the math and it works out cheaper than other options out there. $66 60GB + VOIP and have a work on contract phone. Even if I included the cellphone plan still cheaper :-)

Thats not bad, $85 for 120GB on Vodafone for us at the moment. Thats with double data, anyway I'm not in a hurry.

Vodafone have been good for us, a reliable connection that's fast.

I'm with you. I've generally got no problem with Vodafone's service. I guess I could use a static IP address like you get with Telecom, but it's not a major. If Vodafone can offer something relatively similar to the other ISPs I'd be happy to stay.
