freitasm: You guys using http://customerzone.vodafone.co.nz/customer-zone/speedtest/ to test right and using ethernet, not WiFi, right?

I am on 130/10 in Johnsonville and currently getting 50/10 against Vodafone's Wellington server.

Before "unlimited" it would be 130/10 all the time, any time. Now, not so much.

Yeah, gig Ethernet against Wellington.speedtest.Vodafone.co.nz.
Getting above 80Mb/s is a special occasion for me. Sunday afternoons are ridiculously awful.

I guess it's proof of the impact school holidays have on internet traffic.

gbwelly - yeah I am, off Wellington Road and also on the 130/10 plan. I have another mate further down the road on the 100/10 plan who gets very similar speeds as well.

Freitasm - yeah, testing using the vodafone speedtest to wellington and over a wired connection directly to the cable modem and via a router, get the exact same results both ways.

Right now, I am getting:

Its almost as if VF is throttling deliberately to save some money for extra spending on their exec bonuses!!!

For months we were told on this forum that a lot of money is being spent to upgrade cable, and all we have seen is this pathetic congestion.

I have had a live ticket in for months now and have had an email saying it is a fault....but the problem is getting worse not better, and its spreading to a lot of other geographies.

What is going on VF??

Is it time to take off the "unlimited download" offer so you can at least support your existing customers?

No throttling is happening at all If the last upgrades were not completed it would be far worse now!

9am stats are not the problem - it's the 9pm (peak hour) stats that the complaints are about.

My 9pm speed is 20% of my 9am speed on 100/10 Mbps cable  (I'm on the blue line) ...

Sooooooooo...do something about it. You've already complained here and John has told you there is ongoing work, which is going to take some time. Do you think posting speedtest results endlessly will fix it (serious question)? A more constructive option would be to vote with your feet.

Its good to see you know all the answers.

This issue has been "under action" for months. I have asked customer services to be allowed out of my contract but they will not respond.

I was told on 3/3/2015 that the retention/cancellations team would call me....I am still waiting.

Since you are clearly are a  very intelligent person perhaps you can indeed tell what to do next?

I know I am not the only one affected and, since I first started complaining the cable congestion issue has spread to many areas. VF continue to take $100/month from more and more customers for unlimited product, but are very slow to upgrade their capacity to cope.

I realise JohnR goes above and beyond, but should he be the only spokesman from VF who seems to know whats going on?

Perhaps you could call the service team each couple of weeks for me to ask about progress? Last time I tried it took 3 hours and was transferred 3 times to be told nothing.

Just for you Sir

John shouldn't be the only spokesperson, I agree (although sometimes it seems to me he is one of the few at VF who can get anything actioned). But one man is not an island, and I'm sure he has given you all the information he has at this time. Having said that, have you PM'ed him to see if there's any news?

Also (I may have missed this) but what is to stop you just signing up with another provider for DSL (or wireless) and getting your cable connection cancelled? If it's a contract issue, how long have you got left on it? Have you asked to speak to a supervisor or to escalate your case?
