Now the rot has really set in - not only are peak downstream speeds getting worse every night, but upstream speeds are falling as well.

Remember that this is supposed to be a 100/10 connection:

I rest my case, your honour  undecided

Haha race you to the bottom

Anyone from Vodafone got any updates?  This was supposed to be fixed mid January.

We were personally told "by the holidays" about two months ago. :(

But I guess if Vodafone's definition of 130 Mbps is 13 Mbps, then my definition of $100 can be $10, right? That's how this works, yeah?

Really though, Vodafone's gone startlingly quiet here. The last we heard was that Dylan was hoping to provide an update soon.

I cannot understand how these delays just keep happening. This has been an issue for so long, and it's still not solved? Where in the world is Vodafone pooling their resources?

wasnt it suppose to be fixed early october?

ill say it again, go to the commerce commission and lay a formal complaint, you have tonnes of evidence of the substandard service that in no way meets their obligations. maybe a fine and a kick up the back side will get things fixed faster.

The time making all these posts could have made a sweet complain.

Well, my 12 month contract (and additional $10/month discount) is about to expire, and I might be buying a house in the near future so would rather avoid any change of address or service fees... so I think I'll be signing with Bigpipe.  They've advertised free install on daily-deal websites lately for VDSL so I think I'll go with that.  No contract, and then I can switch to fibre maybe once I move.

Just remember that Bigpipe do NOT provide a master filter or modem with VDSL installs.

But they do provide a big pipe, unlike Vodafone.

Nothing like sharing some beautiful 4K, 60 FPS footage with your friend that's using their new 200/200 Mbps fibre connection, only to get constant buffering when trying to watch it through Vodafone.

Also worth noting that the speed test fluctuated around ~30-45 Mbps for most of the test, and only saw a large bump near the end. Even then, it's still under 50% of our advertised speed.

Vodafone's been way too quiet as of late. We're submitting our complaint to Vodafone now. Hopefully they reimburse us again. I actually was going through the process of escalating our complaint last time, but Vodafone refunded us rather nicely. I'm still ready to take that option if Vodafone does wind up entirely dropping the ball, however.

February in Island Bay - the story so far ...

Full speed ahead in the mornings ...

... but it turns to custard at peak hour (9pm):

Monday 1 February

Tuesday

Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

Saturday

(All measurements via ethernet)

There's a definite trend here ...

We just upgraded our personal, internal network quite a bit. It's a shame that our ISP still can't get upgrades rolled out on their end.

It's also been a week since Vodafone has said anything here. Could someone at least throw us a bone? Please?

Then again, I'm not sure what's worse: Constant empty promises, or dead silence. Either way, Vodafone needs to fix their crap.

I woulda thought that the congestion would be over now that @freitasm has moved over to fibre? tongue-out

Reality is that our usage wasn't a huge number - an average of 300GB/month last six months. Highest 360 GB, lowest 230 GB. You have to look for someone else to serve as the scapegoat.
