Just remember that Bigpipe do NOT provide a master filter or modem with VDSL installs.

Yeah I've still got my Fritz Box from when I had Snap VDSL, and don't need a master splitter as we have no phones running off the line.

We took fibre with 2degrees so our backup DSL account is gone now. If needed will use mobile data. Install took about 90 minutes, thanks to being an aerial drop instead of digging...

We also cancelled our landline numbers (VFX in New Zealand and Mynetfone in Australia) as we were not getting any phone calls anymore on those numbers. Either mobile or Skype. All done we will save something around $50 a month with these changes. And have 200/20 service.

A letter? How retro.

Goes to show how little they have done as far as upgrades if those speeds were offered on a telstra clear letter, since it has been vodafone for quite a while now, and they still only offer 10 meg up.

No, the best approach would be to do both. But you are assuming that work in Christchurch is being done at the expense of work in Wellington, an assumption you're not in a position to make.

but then why is there no details of work going on in Wellington?? its obvious from the extent of this thread there has been a huge lack of resources or what looks like urgency to fix all the issues going on here.
