Wills1: I'm amazed that Vodafone continue to throw money at advertising what is such a poor value product. Saw an ad on tv last night for the 60gb naked plan. I've also heard many ads on the radio. I'm assuming these ads were committed to some time ago. But still its terrible value.

ummm, it's arguably the best value plan in the market for low/medium users if you have voda postpaid already.

You can get unlimited data from slingshot for $60 Shaped of course

$100 from Snap buys you 260gb.

I'd say Vodafone is poor value. You don't need to have a post paid mobile for either of the above options either.

unlimited for $60 PLUS the cost of a phone line -so not a fair comparison.
$65 at vodafone is without a phone line (naked) so no extra cost and therefore cheaper -if you dont use one (a phone that is)
it is $90 at slingshot for unlimited without phone line (naked)
and $95.60 for 120gb at vodafone.
which is a better deal for high usage.

YES you are right. i don't have any use for a home line only high use internet and my mobile so good value depends on your usage and needs. slingshot $90 unlimited seems to be best/cheapest for me but i will wait till vodafone unveils their data changes this month before i take the leap.

Yeah, me too. I'm looking at either Snap or Fyx as an alternative. I looked at Slingshot but the negative comments from various people that have used them before have turned me away.

As I'm based in Christchurch I would very likely switch to Snap. Don't want to sign up for Slingshot's unlimited plan as speed might be at compromise with the uncapped data. Also don't like to sign up for 24 months with Orcon just to be able to get a device (Genius?) that is only usable with Orcon anyway.

But first I will extend my patience until 28 June and then I decide whether or not to switch.

well you are VERY lucky!!.
but that deal doesn't suit high users anyway
i pay $65 for 60 GB plus $30.60 to double to 120
plus $85 for my phone plan which i hardly use (but it includes the iphone and i cant get out of it)
and then i pay $27 for unlimited legal downloads which has just gone up from $7, -10,000 GB which they no longer have :(

that is $207.60 off one income.

I know this is off topic, why dont vodafone do VOIP for home users? i know they do the total office thing but not for home.

I'm think about moving to naked adsl (we have 3 work phone all on 1000+ minutes each) and i want a voip line.. Why dont you do some thing vodafone! why?

I have all those things with my landline. Except multiple phones ringing but then I wouldn't want that anyway. Call Quality? I am sorry I thought we were trying to have a serious discussion here :)

Yes but having all those features cost money. Those features are like 15$+. On Orcon and Slingshot it's free. I'm hoping when Vodafone release their new Plans, I'm hoping for Free Phone Features. They should match Snap and Orcon + bring out Free Phone Features. Because when you incorporate their Home Phone and Broadband bundle, when it's coupled with the Phone Features it's much more expensive.

Right, but I am getting off topic here. What you might find interesting is that I actually run VOIP at home. On a 70Mbps VDSL connection with QOS for my VOIP and it has been a massive PITA it's cost a LOT more than the phone line (with all those features) in setup costs (ATA's etc) and my time, plus it's not actually beggar all cheaper. As for call quality, it's not great and certainly not better than what we had before.
