Are you able to tag @Vodafone? I don't seem to be able to.

TR069 is a remote management protocol.

This has nothing todo with the device connecting to an RSP.

Likely your issue is you are trying to connect to a RSP that requires PPPoE.

The Vodafone hub uses DHCP VLAN 10 as that is Vodafone's setup.

' vodafone ' is not a valid account, Geekzone is not an official support page and they can't support you with that modem on another ISP as it is

This is why the modem is branded ' vodafone ' for a very good reason

So with that said, is there any way to disable VLAN 10 on this modem, or is it by default tagged with this, and cannot be changed?
Perhaps a feature that needs to be added?

Why would Vodafone need to add a feature they don't support? Vodafone brand / provide these branded modems for a reason simple & easy to setup and get working

Can almost be certain this will not be done.

One could argue, locking down a device from changing these settings would supple a good business case.

Likely there is an 'advanced' control panel you need to login to, Ultimately though Outside of support scope for Vodafone.

I recently looked over a few situations Spark customer's were left without connectivity because they tried to save a few dollars using the Vodafone HG659.

Turned out the newer models were configured for DHCP over VLAN 10 for VDSL out of the box.

These customer's were not competent in changing the settings of their third party modem, however a few of them ended up getting chorus out and being charged no fault found fees as they claimed it was the spark modem..

Using a decent third party modem is a great idea in some cases (i love my pair of NF4V's) however if your not willing to do all the configurations, just use the RSP modem.

Support overhead to configure every modem under the sun is just ugh.. 10-20min call could be a quick one!

Hi all,

When I signed up to the new Vodafone TV service I were told that I would need to have a new modem even though I only recently had a new modem fitted when changing to fibre X.

The Ninja at the shop told me that the new one was better and they would come and install the new modem. Well that never happened and I have subsequently cancelled my Vodafone TV, but during one of my many calls to the Vodafone help desk, I were told that they would send me out the new modem and I could install it myself. After reading the instructions it states that this is the case for everything other than fibre X, which I have and I would need a technician to set it up.

I have a tech coming out tomorrow to fix my T-box so I can revert to this and if they turn up this time would it be worth while to change the modems over as well?

Am I going to gain anything by changing modems?

Ive recently been onsite trying to resolve an wifi printer issue with a newish Ultra Hub
Just not reliable, perhaps the automatic firmware upgrades are screwing things up a bit ?
Previous Voda router no issues with wifi printer .

wifi + printer = :-(

Just wasnt going to be reliable, had to turn off wifi on the printer & connect via USB.

If I put my devices that I have set up with static IP’s in this area, I then can’t connect to the internet. If I take them out of there, away we go again on the net. Am I missing something or is it a fault? I am on Firmware CRF731.

yep you not only one I given up with his piece of trash got 36 devices on my network and most of them static configured and it simply crashes out far dns goes and you loose ability to browse the net. It been same fault right from day one and firmware update have done nothing to fix it . So best solution I found was resort back to my trusty fritz box no more issues and happy I did so :)

The fix is coming in the new firmware.

In the meantime I found that if you make sure there are no colons (:) in the device names the static IP thing works. If you have a colon in the name it breaks it.
