Pumpedd:

Have you tried updating your Ethernet drivers?

I had a lot of issues late last year and the issues always occurred after downloading. Tried everything, but upgrading network drivers worked a treat.

I actually just updated my Ethernet drivers about two hours ago, haha! Saw some new drivers were released less than a week ago. The download speeds to Intel's site were fortunately fantastic. 56 MB download and it appeared to finish near-instantaneously.

I don't think this will help performance at all, but I certainly won't complain if it does. :)

Kodiack:I wonder if it would be worthwhile to get VDSL instead while I wait on fibre.

Yes, it would.

Have you logged a fault? and if so what have they said? looking at other peoples issues it seems to have been bad connections which have been mostly rectified by a contractor visit.

Three outages this morning, this becoming a tad annoying, and testing my loyalty to Vodafone.

@MikeHales @gaddman. Is there any updates or feedback on this?

I have indeed logged a fault. I'll be sure to post an update when/if I hear more.

have you called again to chase it up? to keep giving more examples? to keep pressing the issue?

I am not going to chase much longer. My partners patience has expired and mine is being greatly tested.

I've called plenty of times, to the point that I feel exhausted when I need to pick up the phone to give them a ring. Some agents are really helpful and understanding. Others not so much. They have all been nice at least, however.

Still waiting for my fibre order to get confirmed, at which point I'll likely just bear with this for a bit longer and then jump ship once we have a new connection. While bandwidth to many sites and services has been lower than I'd like, latency in games has fortunately been solid.

Island Bay, Wellington, 'FibreX" cable, 200/20 Mbps, on node WKH3.

These are TrueNet downstream ToD graphs for my connection, averaged over the past 4 weeks:

Wellington double dip:

Auckland double dip:

Both graphs show morning and evening speed dips down to 100 Mbps.

These double dips were NOT present in May.

I don't notice the speed dips, as my real-world speeds are always below 100 Mbps - typically 25 Mbps, at best 80 Mbps.  undecided

Note that these TrueNet stats are for my own connection only.

My wife gets back from a business trip this evening, if these issues are still continuing and it would be a miracle if they were not then I believe come Monday I will be looking for a new ISP after a very long time with Vodafone.
