They stopped the cable rollout everywhere a while ago

So don't hold your breath on cable...

However the Box itself has added features they are looking to do in regards to delivery options so watch this space but don't hold your breath on cable :(

There is still half of chch un cabled so i think IF they did carry on they would do these areas first

Has anyone switched on TV on T Box and found the channel has been delayed? Watched 'Good Morning' at the gym and came home found the same thing an hour later, i.e. 1 hour delay. Rang TCL and was told to fast forward live TV until it caught up. I got the impression that TCL seemed to think that I would have known what to do. The recording that was set for that time was not on delay but was OK.

Pressing 'Stop' or simply changing channel will also resolve it.

Does anyone know the current pricing for 20GB Broadband + T-Box(+sports+HD ticket) without phone line package, I can't find it on their website. I use VOIP for phone line and don't want to pay the extra $$$.

Watching Wellington V Canterbury on Sky Sport tonight. 3 times during the second half I started getting a feeling of Deja-vu and note from the time on screen and the score that I'm back watching the first half. To fix i change channel and back again and all good, but it did it twice again. What gives?

So I got my T-Box installed yesterday, very painless.
I am impressed with the picture, I actually think it is slightly better than my Sky feed although that may be new toy itis.

Menu screens are very nice but it does lack functons of the the My Sky box i.e. the ability to choose the output i.e. 720p, 1080P etc. and abilty to choose where to send the sound output i.e. optical or hdmi.

Despite what the salesman told me the T-box does not do 5.1 through HDMI, this is a big omission by Telstra as this is part of the HDMI standard. To only ouput it via optical is pretty poor.
They did say they will look at it down the line but I don't like been lied to by a company, so black mark against you Telstra.

I am intreaged with the "engineering Menu" and what functions it hides, has anyone managed to get in and have a look at this?

So overall reasonably happy with the box but does lack some basic features that should be there.

Be aware as you start to use it that the software is really only beta quality at the moment.  You'll find plenty of bugs and it'll crash occasionally.

I imagine that's why they are not advertising its availability to the general public yet.

Aye, they're definitely advertising it. There is a huge advert for it on the way into Wellington by the ferry terminals.

To be honest apart from my beef with the audio through HDMI I have had no problems, now all
I need is someone to reveal the engineering menu pin so I can see what is in there :)

It's boring. Only the ability to delete all recordings and do a reset. Don't worry about it.
