@tcabw:

Hi,

Perhaps this has been asked before (after searching, I found several references to deleting recorded programs), but I have been helping a friend (we are both 75 year olds) convert from MySKY to a Vodafone TV box. He's moved into a retirement village.

We seem to have worked most things out, but the most frustrating feature is that after performing the delete action to several recorded progs and receiving acknowlegement they've been deleted, they don't disappear from the MYTV screen when opening the menu.  Is this a feature? Is there a time lag before some or all drop off? Do the last couple always stay there or is there something we've missed in the "delete" process?

I also installed the Vodafone TV app on his iPhone, but every time the app is opened it wants to scan the Q code on the screen. After doing so, the app works,  but doesn't save the process to memory. Close the app and re-open it, it wants to scan the Q code again.  (I'm an Android user, so iPhones are a mystery to me!).  Have I installed the wrong app and is there one that he can call up a TV prog on the menu and set it from a location other than where the box is, to record?

I don't suppose there's a detailed guide for operating the box? I can't find one on Google.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Tony C.

Just saw your message Tony. Sorry no one has responded.
* We never pay any attention to the MyTV options. A recording we watched earlier this evening is not there, but can't help you beyond that. Your experience doesn't sound right.
* The app should not be asking you to link to the box each time you use it. I suggest you phone customer service.
* Yes, a detailed guide would be nice. No, there isn't one (that I know of).

Linux: If connected over WiFi connect it over Ethernet and see if same issue happens!

Thankyou for your reply

it seems my model is the one that doesn't have Wi-fi as an option, so I'm plugging the ethernet into a Wi-fi extender, which is the Deco Super Wi-fi I mentioned

That would be a Gen 1.

Is the stb plugged direct into your TV, or via another device?
What is the make/model of your TV?

Hi. I have a Samsung The Frame TV bought new this year

The Vodafone TV box is connected via HDMI directly into the provided Samsung One Connect box, which has a Samsung cable that I haven't seen before that connects the box to the TV, which is the only way to get signal to the TV

As has been commented on, it looks I do have a Gen 1 box after all, so apologies, I have posted this in the wrong forum. I think that I will need to insist that I get an updated Gen 2 box sent out. When I asked for this the guy said that the only difference is that it has a Wi-fi option, but I suspect it has a little more than that...

Thanks

The Olympic Games segments being able to be replayed on TV One are next to useless. When I tried to play the segment just now which was at 14:00 I got a segment that was much later in the day which was also labelled S16, E11. The segmenting needs to be sorted out so that times which have the play icon can actually be played.

Yes, I've found the same. No good if you want to watch a gold medal event that's already happened. Thank goodness for my Tivo!

I’ve found if you change to another channel first (not tv one) then you can go to the guide and select the previous Olympic segment and watch catch up from start.

We have had our VTV since the Gen 2 came onto the market. After a few initial hiccups, it’s been fine. However this evening it’s producing the dreaded micro-pauses - quite frequently. Anyone else seeing this tonight?

I think I remember seeing some sort of fix way back in this thread but can’t now find anything specific. Would appreciate comments or advice.

I think from memory that the micro pauses required work on the CDN servers. It took weeks from memory for work to be completed after consulting with vendor. Not again.

Our Gen2 VTV over the last couple of nights has been randomly showing "confidential" in time slots in the TV Guide section of the menu. Any ideas?

Seeing that here also. Rather annoying. Can't record these programs, either.

TVNZ's fault.  The guide on their website said the same.
