Another vote for Voyager here, I have fibre with them.
I agree with the other comments - don't cancel cable until fibre is up and running. Better to have some overlap than no service at all.

Is that the same Voyager that was around decades ago?

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

No, seeby started it once his restraint of trade on the offloading of orcon ran out. I think he kept the brand as part of the sale or something.

Oh I thought it was the same just under new ownership! What happened to the old Voyager?
Actually is Globe Net still around?

My fibre order is placed with Chorus, and the consents are already sorted from before. Sounding like things will be quick there.

However, I want to say that this connection has actually been performing surprisingly well these past few days. I'm getting ~40-45 MB/s on Steam as I type this, and I've been getting generally better download speeds to quite a few things. I'm still comfortably behind my friends on pure fibre, but for the price difference between the connections, I honestly can't complain.

My connection has been terrible this morning, lots of drop outs and speed down into the mid 20mbps.

Apologies for the micro outages, the engineers have been looking into it and it's not a physical fault but rather connected to DHCP. Still working on it.

Connection is behaving a lot better today, no drop outs and speed very good. I have made no further adjustments my end so something may have been fixed, Fingers crossed.

it was my understanding that all the static IP's are DHCP anyway.

That's correct. I'm on a static IP, but it's really just DHCP with the IP address reserved.

so if the micro outages are dhcp related then it's possible everyone is getting them
