zeitgeist:
starspangle: Well I can say Telecom really screwed up with my NDSL, here's the story

I have two phone lines in my house, one was disconnected about 2 months ago, which left one active.
I called xNet to change to NDSL on my active line, Telecom said yes we can do that on Friday Jan 11th.
Was put off til Monday Jan 14th, I still had no NDSL at 3p on that day, called xNet they say it's completed, I explaind I still have a dial tone, they put a fault thru to telecom to check it out, telecom say "we'll fix it on tuesday 15th" on tuesday I still had dial tone, called xNet again, put another fault thru, telecom say's "we'll look into it and gurantee iot will be fixed by 3pm Jan 16th"
Well 3.30pm Jan 16th, hello still got a dial tone, called xNet yet again to see whats going on, another fault to telecom, telecom says "well have it all up and running by 3pm on jan 17th" well 10.15 this morning my landline is disconnected and left with an engaged signal.
Call xNet again to see whats happening, get told telecom must be still connecting it, thought to my self "fine I'll wait even longer, the at 1.15pm this afternoon I'm raging because I still can't access the net, I thought to my self "hmmm I'll plug the router into the old line" and what do you know there's my NDSL on the line that was disconnected 2 months ago, called xNet to complain yet again, they said they will talk to Prov about it, 10 mins later I'm calling again to say leave it on the line it's on now, I'll call telecom and cancel my landline.
Called Telecom to cancel the phone, they say it was disconnected this morning due to NDSL, and that just got my going, I have to go mental at them for screwing up my connection,.
Turns out that yes telecom did connect my NDSL on Monday 14th Jan but to the WRONG line.

That sounds like what has happened to me, except I've had it much worse.

It's weeks since I signed up now and I STILL don't have internet. Xnet have no clue what is going on.

Can you send me your accont details please in a PM

starspangle: I tell you telecom is very sly, they have now put my NDSL on the correct line after I called xNet to have it left where it was.
My router had sync at 12000/1000kbps on the wrong line and when I did a speed test it was 9500/876kbps now they have put it on the right line I'm only getting 9662/925kbps (Transfer rate 1207/115) I want it back on the other line as the line it's self is better quality and the speed is better.
Telecom screwed up why couldn't they just leave it in stead of fixing the damn thing I was happier with the 1st speed of 12000kbps

This has nothing to do with Telecom being sly.

They provisioned the service on the wrong pair, They probably realized it and restored it, probably because you logged a fault previously as you stated in your previous post. If you had made changes to the case after the tech had been deployed, it probably would be too late...

So just to be clear, Telecom make a mistake, you ask them to fix it, they fix it and yet somehow they are screwing you?

Basicly yes!!
Ok I have line 1 and line 2
Wanted NDSL on line 1 (Active phone line)
I called Xnet. line 1 phone been disconnected but no ADSL so I check other phone line 2 and hello theres my NDSL
Telecom put it on line 2 (deactivated 2 months b4)
I relise this on thursday (Yesterday 6 days after it was supposed to be connected)
I call xNet to have it fixed, 10 mins later I call back and say leave it as it is (12000/1000kbps)
I go to work, come home and it's been changed to line 1 (now 9500/876kbps)
I feel so ripped off now, I was getting better speeds on line 2, now line 1 is constantly disconnecting whats up with that

If you feel so ripped, why don't you get it provisioned on the second line? Its not as if you have a 12 month contract on the first line!

A lot can change in 10 minutes (assuming that the changes were made after that call!).

Because it took them long enough to provision this one, the secon line actually has ADSL sync on it still, it's just not tunneled anywhere

yeah definitely, now that you are free of telecom, just get Xnet to change it to the secondary line like cokemaster said.

Just wondering if anyones having trouble with their final bill?
I should be recieving my final telecom bill next week after completely closing my accounts this Monday fingers crossed, but on the current one they've added in a few extra charges.

I accept the $49 connection charge as that was explained, I told them I only needed customerlink for a few weeks, so that was ok, but they've charged me another month for both customerlink, the homeline and the wiring contract :(

Jodi from Xnet said before I should ask them to reimburse the new connection charge as they terminated my broadband the first time leaving me broadbandless, but the other charges :S will they disappear when I cancel my account?
I also asked for no wire maintenance contract on the phone, but they've charged me for that too, because I've basically got Cat6 running from the telecom wires into my house, to a 2-wire phoneline, then to my patch panel

 I/NET MOVE ADDRESS  07/01/080.00   0.00
 1 HomeLine  07/01/08 - 23/01/080.00   18.59CR
 1 CustomerLink  24/01/08 - 23/02/080.00   22.50
 1 CustomerLink  08/01/08 - 23/01/080.00   11.61
 NEW CONNECTION  15/01/080.00   0.00
 1 HomeLine  24/01/08 - 23/02/080.00   36.00
 1 HomeLine  15/01/08 - 23/01/080.00   10.45
 1 Wire Maintenance contract  24/01/08 - 23/02/080.00   2.53
 1 Wire Maintenance contract  15/01/08 - 23/01/080.00   0.73
 1 Connection fee   48.99   0.00

Do you think if I cancel I could at least get next months fees removed? it seems a bit unfair considering I told them I was leaving there service in the next two weeks

But surely since you've got broadband working on the first pair, you can order it for the second and can the first one once the second goes live?

One thing to consider is:

vinnieg:
 I/NET MOVE ADDRESS  07/01/080.00 0.00
1 HomeLine (credit for remainder of your billing cycle of the landline that you disconnected)
 07/01/08 - 23/01/080.00 18.59CR
 1 CustomerLink(one month in advance)  24/01/08 - 23/02/080.00 22.50
 1 CustomerLink (prorated to your billing cycle)  08/01/08 - 23/01/080.00 11.61
 NEW CONNECTION  15/01/080.00 0.00
1 HomeLine (one month in advance)
 24/01/08 - 23/02/080.00 36.00
1 HomeLine (prorated to your billing cycle)
 15/01/08 - 23/01/080.00 10.45
 1 Wire Maintenance contract (one month in advance)  24/01/08 - 23/02/080.00 2.53
 1 Wire Maintenance contract e (prorated to your billing cycle)  15/01/08 - 23/01/080.00 0.73
1 Connection fee (standard connection fee)
  48.99 0.00

I'm guessing that your services with Telecom were still active when the bill was printed and with new services, its always billed one month in advanced. Unless they have a 30 day minimum charge, you should see a credit (which you can get sent in a cheque from memory) the next billing cycle when your bill is calculated.

I would ring them up about the wire maintenance contract charges and see if they can get them credited back. While you are at it, I would recommend ringing them up and seeing whether you are going to get a prorata credit from when your landline got switched over to NDSL (I'm fairly sure you should, but not 100% certain).

thanks cokemaster, i thought the advance billing might be the case, I'll double check on Monday when my VFX is working and hopefully get a lot of it credited back and then pay the rest off as soon as the final bill comes through :)

It would be good to hear from users who have connected up rather than listen to connection problems. (ie) does it work well for you and is it worth yhe money? cheers George

Good point George, I was actually going to look to do this next week as it been 10 working days since fusion went live and I have to say wow......it went off big time, the provisioning team have a love hate relationship with it at present Laughing, and a few processes are causing headaches for everone, but there are a lot of people who have now moved onto Fusion so there comments on the actual service would be quite benificial, were all well aware of the provisioning problems in some cases and it is only some cases Innocent.

I will start the ball rolling here Phil. I have had Xnet fusion since last Wednesday and I must admit I have had no problems with the service. I have found it as reliable as before when I still had a POTS phone service. A big thumbsup from me.
