One thing i've found to be aware of, I generally get significantly faster speedtest results testing against ACSdata than Vodafone themselves.

Ran some tests today with a VF engineer. even managed to find a bit of their network thats  showing a 192.168.x.x address publicly as a router-id ......D'oh

Also noted that the speeds across what i'm assuming is VF internal networks are really bad

Chorus was supposed to be here in two weeks for the install.

Once again, the person scoping flat-out lied to my face. Said they'd do simultaneous build + connect, but this seems to say otherwise:

Ugh.

This is the sort of stuff that worries me about changing. UFB connections and Chorus is a recipe for stomach ulcers.

True that. I had a close friend waiting for over nine months. It's ridiculous how unreliable Chorus is.

I wouldn't be so upset if I wasn't literally told - just yesterday, to my face - that it would be installed in about two weeks.

It doesn't have to be a big deal. I'm not sure why Wellington seems to be so bad, but here in Tauranga I got hooked up to UFB in just over two weeks -shrug-

If Chorus had to front the customer with these issues I believe it would be different. They hide behind walls and deny responsibility

im not sure what the problem is with waiting, you have to do nothing, you have a working (semi working) internet connection so waiting it not really the end of the world is it.

I'm impatient. Why do you think I'm on gigabit in the first place? :D

Could definitely be worse, though. At least I'm not stuck on, say, ADSL.

it's not the waiting that would concern me if the dates given were true, it is all the other nonsense and "miss information" that goes on.

Taking a day off work to meet a contractor who then doesnt show has a real cost to people. They need to be punished for making promises and not sticking to them.

The time has come the Walrus said to think of many things...

I think the time has come to part company with Fibre X.

Am I correct that VF uses a Technicolor TC4400 for the DOCSIS 3.1 connection? If so this box seems to be troublesome.

Yes it is the modem that is provided with FibreX and as far as I know you can't use a different one.

There is the source of my issues the Technicolor TC4400 is the rock opposite the hard place. These things seem to have issues of drop out where ever they are used.
