lol i live in avondale and i got slow speeds on the 24th to for some reason but um look at these :D Xnet adsl torrential

I get 6.7Mbps down and about 950kbps attainable line rate synch :D

Although the pings arent that great, well actually a bit dissapointing especially the NY.... They probably need to cut down the number of hops..

Oh im on torrent plan but im 100% certain that they shape and limit dloads from torrents and p2p 24/7 because right now im getting bad dload speeds and ive never really got over 100KBPS on u-torrent......

but it allways go fast if i dload of webpages so im shure there limiting stuf....

Do you have encyption on in utorrent? force it and see if ur speeds get any better :)

might take 10-20 mins before speeds get better as all ur current connections wont be encrypted if u had it off!

have a look at utorrents help page for more info but toredo is a IPv6 - IPv4 tool, if u dont use IPv6 on your network then u dont need to worry about it, mainly only large buisnesses (or geeks) would use it :)

:0 ipv6 wasnt suported by default.. lol ok il restart u torrent so that all connections will be forced..

I've just got a hooked up to xnet in the past few weeks. The speeds are great in the middle of the day when I'm not home :P but at night about 8:00 all the international traffic slows down i can not stream a video off youtube. I vpn into another network to see if all international bandwidth was slow. but i found that i could easily stream a video. XNET get more international bandwidth.

Im still not conviced that Xnet arnt F-ing us around and capping our non-encrypted data after mid-night!
Last night I was downloading from Filefront.com, a site I can easily max out my connection speed, I was only getting 11kB/s untill around 3-4am when it went up to 30kB/s
at the same time tho I was getting well over 250kB/s on a linux distro in uTorrent
I tryed limmiting my uTorrent, the filefront download sped up for about 5 seconds then went back to 10-11kB/s typical chararistics of rate limmting kicking in.

Personaly I dont care if Xnet are, they are protecting there company costs, I just dont like being lied to(if this is whats happening!)

I may just test the torrent speeds tonight. But i'm not on the torrent plain. But Ive been wondering if they are capping the other plains.

VPN to an international site/person and you Should find that it runs fine, if international bandwidth was the problem then even a encrypted-VPN would slow down!

same goes for encrypted FTP!

The vpn i connected to was local in new zealand the network has a xtra connection. Local speeds are good just do a traceroute on local hosts. But even that i was streaming over a vpn it was faster than using xnets international bandwidth at night.

Considering Xnet's performance lately, I would be expecting only 'tail-between-the-legs' explanations as to why they can't even provide internet fast enough to run youtube!! Any other response would be smug audaciousness.
