They're not specifically locked. But the devices they sell will be tested, and verified, and OTA approved first

Huawei Pxx range for instance, basically the same handset across all providers with a single-ish update stream. But reset it with a different providers SIM in and it will configure itself during boot and request updates for that provider.

So as long a the device is a known for sale in NZ SKU, with valid OTA updates. It'd probably get it. Get one from china, that has random OS and no real manufaturer OTA updates - less likely

Yeah. I am just sad that a Pixel 6 Pro etc will miss out on enhanced coverage.

I recently moved from Samsung S10 to an iPhone 12Max and hate it, and i don't want to go back to Samsung.
I need to decide/understand if i will actually lose out on anything by moving to the Pixel 6 Pro.

VoLTE

VoWiFi

You're in the same boat as me and unfortunately unless Google themselves or any of our big three decide to start offering it in NZ we just won't see it supported because the market share isn't there/no interest.

Having to reset the phone is as bad as getting a new phone IMO. If I cant swap sims in and out at will and have them work with all features its pretty useless IMO.

And VoLTE is not supported on those handsets officially so I’m not going to dish out money just to try(I’m with Kogan under VFNZ)

Also I don’t actually like how extremely budget Nokia is.

Rather not exactly downgrade that far even with a iPhone 12… not keen to go back with Samsung either so I’ll wait…

That's right. One of my mate is on VF and has a Nokia G20. Has got Volte working and has the options available for Vowifi in the settings.
VF has handsets listed on thier website through a sales perspective.

Probably because neither Vodafone or 2degrees sell Nokia handsets.
