Sorry folks, cancel that. I can't meet the Vodafone person due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Do you want what I have typed up in case a meeting can be rebooked?

Had a couple of dropouts over the past week, including today. The connection is performing abysmally at the moment. It took 16 seconds to load a page on Geekzone, and Discord is nigh-unusable at times on FibreX. It's taken up to ten seconds to load ~400-600 KB images, whereas image loading has been nigh-instantaneous for friends on fibre and VDSL.

I run a site myself, and it's currently taking roughly ten times as long to load over FibreX as usual. Fast.com results are decent-ish (just under 200 Mbps), but there's a lot of fluctuation. Speedtest.net also does not indicate any issues:

After running that speed test, I decided to try downloading something from an EC2 instance that I'm running. Currently seeing 1.5 MB/s. Performance is all over the place. :\

EDIT
Took close to ten seconds to load this page after submitting this reply:

Additionally, a couple of other friends that are not on Vodafone have reported some sudden slowdown. Perhaps an issue with international bandwidth or something?

Since the change over of the Technicolor and the Huawei our connection has been stable and our speed very good.

Okay, not sure what was up before, but a lot of stuff was slow for about 10 to 20 minutes. It was affecting other friends on VDSL and fibre, and they don't have Vodafone. Whatever was going slow cleared up for all of us simultaneously.

Fortunately, that means that Vodafone's not at fault. :D Back to being unproductive for the day then!

The weekend was a typical weekend in our home with lots of folks coming and going connecting to our Wifi. Throughout the weekend and continuing into today our connection has been stable and the speeds consistent. Things look very promising.

Going back a few pages someone mentioned a firmware update for the Technicolor modem, I wonder if the supplied replacement gear has updated firmware.

yeah I was wondering the same thing, especially because @MikeHales said the following:

Apologies for the micro outages, the engineers have been looking into it and it's not a physical fault but rather connected to DHCP. Still working on it.

So a firmware update would possibly address this.  Would be good to know what is actually going on.

According to the Downer Tech he believed there may have been an issue with the first batch of TC4400 received. I was a very early adopter so there could be something in that.
I was/am prepared to work with VF on this but if it goes to custard again I will swap to UFB.

....and I am glad you are working with VF on this.  I am just concerned that they may be dealing with things on a case by case basis. Would they replace all the early batch of TC4400 based on known issues... I suspect not.

I had similar at work, first investige, second work out remedy, third who is paying. If it's a bad hardware batch then I would be looking to my reseller and OEM to come up with a package that fixes the issue fast.

Connection has dropped yet again tonight. These random dropouts are happening really frequently now. Didn't start getting them until somewhat recently, but they're relentless.

There was comment the other week about the Cable Modems getting a firmware upgrade, is there any news or update around this?

My internet connection started to dropout last night at around 10pm. Disappointing.
