Or really bring back your phone and change it during the warranty period.

Then state that this phone doesn't work as advertised, present your evidence as to why and ask for a different phone that DOES work as advertised.

Well Vodafone have cleverly said that 3G is only available in certain areas and they would jsut say i am in a bank.... but what pisses me off more is taht the handover to 2.5g or in some blackspots, my callers would get the 20second silence then hear my voice mail

Seriously - invoke the consumer guarantees act in a civil manner, with your facts in writing so you dont forget them at the crucial moment, and get a different model.

Maybe I should do it when better model comes out... i had no choice to upgrade at this time as it was an insurance replacement.

Yeah right.
Push them hard, change your phone to a different model and then post your experience here in the forum. I wonder what the result will be, but in my opinion you will see improvement.. :)

Exactly, well said Disenchanted.

Don't waste your time complaining about it here, write up a decent letter that explains your problems and why you think you have a right to a different, working handset. Provide that to the people you purchased the phone from and await their response.

If the service doesn't work as expected, you are entitled to a refund or replacement that does work as expected. If they quote Voda's "3G isn't available everywhere" explain that's not the problem, the handset is the issue when it tries to switch to 3G, nothing to do with availablilty of 3G.

I got a new handset (same model) but still the same problem so i've switched off 3G. I'll turn it on when the coverage is better. (if it gets better)!
