Jones! Channel
At least you T-Box users get the new Jones! channel. I have resisted for this long. I still have the Silver Digital decoder with a PVR HD system, My wife and I were looking forward to the Jones! channel - but it was a no show on our digital box.

I phoned Vodafone and they explained that new sky channels are released on a new band that is incompatible with digital (non T-box decoders) so No Jones! and I guess no new Sky released channels unless you go for the T-Box and pay the extra and installation fee.

This sucks - they also said there are no plans to upgrade non-t-box decoders.

Can you guys tell me is T-Box pretty stable now ? (as we really fancy that Jones's channel and it's the only way we will get it if we stay with cable).

Still crashes, cuts off programs, and randomly packs it up and wants to be rebooted half a dozentimes before it comes alive again though.

It is more stable now tha nit was when we switched to TBOX 18 months ago.. still lags behind where MySky was then thou. New vodafone colour scheme is terrible just to rub salt in the wound.

still considering - still love my homemade PVR - though no support for recording multiple chans at least it plays bluray. www and newtwork video.

I have found the stability of the T-Box to be excellent since the last couple of updates. We have had no problems at all for months.

I wish I could say the same. The second-to-last update was an improvement stability-wise, but the black-screen issues that were introduced then have gotten worse in the latest version.

Usually that is the case, and a reboot is required.

But I have also had it where all video went black suddenly. Restarting my amp resolved those ones. I suppose it is possible that it is my amp at fault, but I doubt it. I have not had this happen with any of the other devices that I have going through the amp.

Since the Vodafone switch over, our Tbox has become much more responsive to the remote - the difference is night and day! And it's been stable - so much so, I almost have forgiven it for all the trouble it gave us in the past - it's actually working well! I even prefer the new colour scheme over the Telstraclear washed-out pastel colours of old.

Our picture sometimes freezes for 2 or 3 seconds then starts again. Are we the only ones getting this?.

Apart from this and the occasional pixelation the performance of the TBox has certainly improved. Fingers crossed!

It looks like the T-Box is now stable enough for me to make the change from the old digital STB. I assume I can still feed AV out of it to my modulator for watching in another room while directly connected to the HDMI of my adjacent TV, but can someone please confirm this and also advise the T-Box dimensions as I can't find a handbook on the Vodafone web site.

dimensions approximately in cm: 38x22x6 but please allow at least 2cm clearance all around for adequate ventilation.
output at the back allows for HDMI, S-Video, component, composite, and sound in rca stereo and digital optical. And yes, I currently use the HDMI and the s-video at the same time.
You will also need room for the separate power unit, same dimensions as the one that supplies your cable modem.

Hi guys,
I have read all the posts here and it seems there are two camps taking the colour scheme out of the mix.

A. People with TBox lockups and pixelisation
B. People with no / little issues.

This makes wonder is there a quality control issue with the manufacturing of the TBoxes or my thinking an issue with the signal in the cable a week signal gives issues with pixelisation and lockups.

As I'm new to the cable discussion has this been looked at as an issue before ?.

Well I have issues with lockups and loss of video, but I don't have any issues with pixellation.
I don't think you can surmise that low signal level causes lockups.

And I believe everyone has issues with the sluggish UI. Yes it is better than it used to be, but it is still slow and misses half of all remote keypresses. Or am I the only one with that issue too? :)
