Thanks, basically the WXC’s config file enabling the router function on my SPA and disabling my access to the SPA from my LAN (My LAN has different IP Rang than 192.168.0.1) Yes I can access via the SPAs Ethernet port, in my case I need to change the IP rang to 192.168.0.xx on my NIC. Again, I do not want 2 routers running in my LAN, basically I do want to use the SPA in bridge mode, because I have a better router in my Home LAN.

With respect maverick I cannot see a security hole here. My connection is reaching WXC via Internet.I DO NOT WANT MY SPA TO BE A ROUTER IN MY NETWORK. These complicate things in my LAN.

Can WXC do custom configurations for their customers, so that the Router function stays as its?

BTW: I hear WXC dial tone from my SPA – I think I got connected to VFX now! let me explore....

I think you may be missing the point Shash this is a standard profile, if someone decided to use this as a router then the WAN port would be open if we did not lock it down this is a scurity hole and we err on the side of caution so we turn it off by default, you can change the settings as I said by logging on via the LAN port , you are trying to connect to it via the wan, plug your PC directly into the LAN port and change the network settings to what you require enable Web Access set a Static IP totally up to you.

If you have dial tone then you would be connected , you can conirm by looking at the Phone LED on the devive if it's on your registered, the status page on the 3102 will also tell you if your registered or not.

Thanks, yes I can setup a Static IP, enable Web access and use my SPA as bridge etc, but when the router restarts or SPA come back online from a power failure.... the WXC config kicks in and my static IP and other settings are gone and I’m back to square one.I’m I correct in saying.....When I enable bridge function on the SPA the SPAs WAN port becomes my LAN Port.This also disables the routing function (Which I wanted). Can WXC do me a custom config which I will request through the help desk?

Yes my phone LED is lit, I’m yet to explore the Voice side of things.

These network paramters should not change after you set them a power reset should not alter them either, I have just checked both of your configs and there are no network paramaters in your either of them which should be correct. we set the intial network config only, after that there is nothing that touchs these settings in the configs, I will need to take a look tomorrow with a test unit.

I have had that problem once with a modem. I would make changes to the config and they would take effect immediately, but when restarted the changes were lost. In my case I forgot to save the changes to make it permanent. Are you sure you saved the changes?

I'm successfully connected to VFX, also the power cycling my SPA is keeping my Static IP and internal DNS nad gateway etc which is good!

Now.... my Admin page is requesting credentials, I suppose credentials will arrive in the email tomorrow from WXC?

Also I've subscribed VFX only on this line so I will be using the PSTN as fallback and to make other International calls, for this I would also like to use my own dial plans (Like emergency calls to go through Gateway0 and block some of toll numbers etc) I'm sure WXC will allow me to create my own Dial plans. I'm looking forward to this.

Actually, no.... After provisioning with VFX, certain settings are locked from modification and view.....

Tommorow is Monday, the VFX team should be back.... I do hope they'll give me a call tommorow (even though I'm at work, so it's really hard..)..... But basically, I do hope that I can use some of my other gateways......

Maybe just an insertion of <#1,:><@gw1> into the dial plan would be really really good..... It'll mean that if I press "#1" on my phone, it'll switch over and allow me to call out using gateway 1 instead of VFX then...............

The help desk will not be able to help you with these questions, it's outside their scope. I will be taking a look at this this morning to see how we can incorparate the extra gateways into the dial plans, maybe something similar to this,

< 0#:@gw0>|< 1#:@gw1>|< 2#:@gw2>|< 3#:@gw3>|

however we will need to check that this dosn't break the VFX services so we need a little bit of time to test, we understand that people may want to use other services at time's but our prime focus is the VFX service (not other services) and we will not be compromising it's services or functions i'm afraid, we are happy to fine tune the configs as I said before and the 3102 is a newer hardware but there are not a lot of users on these as yet and due to the flexibility of this device the configiration is a lot different to the standard device setups.

We will be taking a look today and will have some discussions around this device , we may have an answer today it but the helpdesk will not have the answers for you they will come from here at this stage.

This is great! not ony for me but also many Suscribers of VFX

WXC's current dial plan confidential? The reason I'm asking is… by subscribing to VFX services I do not want to pay for calling a local (Auckland) number, I'm sure the above dial plan changes will take care of things any way..

I have my PSTN line connected to the LINE port of SPA (From the wall socket to LINE port of SPA) and my cordless phone UNIDEN DSS7915 with 2 additional handsets (Discovered Hidden features of this phone after subscribing to VFX) plugged into the PHONE port of SPA, I have another coded phone connected to the same line (Another extension) as well. This will be a standard scenario anyone subscribing to VFX would like to have…

I have an issue when I get an in coming call on my TCNZ line only the coded phone rings, not the Cordless phone. Could any one advice me how can I make my cordless phone ring by changing some settings in the PSTN setting?

I know WXC will not support PSTN side of things, but if any one out there experienced a similar scenario and have some settings I can do on the SPA (Hope this is not hidden by WXC Configs) …..please advice.

We have done some work this morning on this, a number of the # and * codes are in use, mostly used for the speed dial functions,

At this point we are going to change the configs on the 3102 dial plan to allow 0# to select gw0 and 1# to select gw1, this will only enable a single second gateway only at this stage, configs are being ammended now so a reboot will be required to pick up the changes otherwise the changes will updated within 48 hours automatically.

This is a starting point only at this stage.

We did find that exact same sympton this morning when we were testing some of the gateway scenario's the ringing frequency of Telecom Lines is 25Hz however it appears that in some lines this is not the case, we have also ammended the config to take this in to consideration.

See how you go with the new config.

I will also hook up my 2nd SPA on my second line tonight to see whether I have the Broadband and VFX

I have restarted the SPA few 4 times in the past 3 hrs, but no Joy. My cordless phones are not ringing as explained before. Should I give more time or do you have any other suggestions?

The issue we saw this morning showed exactly the symptons you described however there may be other reasons, does the Phone Ring when you dial the VFX number ?

PM the details of the account that has these phones on and I will take a look (VFX Phone Number or MAC Address) , can you let us know the outcome of the incoming VFX call first though.
